Sentience, published a year ago by Tiny Splendor I've been very self-conscious about promoting or selling this book; aside from selling it at the LA Art Book Fair 2023 when it was recently published, I've been letting my copies collect dust in my garage.

I'm trying to address the root of my deep insecurities around making art, sharing it, and generally just taking up space/existing. I want to give this book (and the plentiful stock I have left of it) a second wind, move the copies I have left, and finally let myself feel proud of it by sharing it without shame

hi! I’ve really stepped away from tumblr the last 2+ years and more specifically social media/IG since october ‘21. TW: death --  my eldest step/brother Tim died suddenly of an overdose on oct. 17, the day after my birthday. we had a really intense and complex dynamic, but I’d never mentally prepared for losing him. life hasn’t felt the same since and it feels like I’ve been awkwardly navigating a new planet/body/self. I’ve been spiraling pretty hard about what the point of making art even is, how banal certain things now seem, how much I’ve lost interest in engaging. 

but truthfully, I actually do miss making and sharing work. I want to start engaging again slowly and with new boundaries. but anyway, hi if you can read this. I’m applying to L.A. Zine Fest ‘23 and need to share some examples of my work, so I’m gonna start posting more on here.

I’ve been drawing more in the last 2 weeks than I have the last 3-4 months. I don’t know how long this burst will last, but it feels like my psychic body’s taken a laxative suddenly and I’m able to get out, bit by bit, this compacted mass of anxiety/angst/desperate/fermenting sadness. I don’t know what or why the images are, but I’m just trying to get quiet and listen
