Sugar Rush Diya: A Journey Through Sweetness
🍰 Sugar Rush! What's Your Favorite Sweet/Dessert? 🇧🇩
Hey Tumblr! 👋
I came across this super fun thread on Reddit in r/IndianFoodPhotos, where everyone is sharing their favorite sweets and desserts. Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla, Ras Malai—everything you can think of. But you know what? As a Bangladeshi, I had to throw in some of our legendary sweets! 🇧🇩
🇧🇩 My Favorite Bangladeshi Sweets:
Mishti Doi – Sweet, creamy yogurt that's a must after a hearty biryani meal! 🍯
Chomchom – Soft, syrup-soaked, coconut-covered heaven. Once you start, you can't stop. 🥥
Kalojam – Like Gulab Jamun but even more intense and delicious! The king of sweets! 🍩
Shemai – Vermicelli pudding, perfect for Eid and any special occasion. 🍚
Patishapta – A sweet coconut-filled crepe that you can’t stop eating once you start. 🍯
🤔 AITA?
So, after posting about these sweets, someone said, "Why are you always talking about Bengali sweets?" 💀 But honestly, who doesn’t love a good dessert? I’m just proud of my culture’s sweet treats. But is it too much to share?
So, AITA for loving and sharing my favorite sweets? Or is it just my love for these desserts showing?
Some Points to Consider:
Is it wrong to share and celebrate the sweets of Bangladeshi culture?
Am I just proudly sharing my love for my country’s sweets, or am I causing unnecessary debate?
If Bangladeshi sweets are so good, shouldn’t we share them with the world?
What’s your favorite sweet? If you're from Bangladesh, back me up and share your thoughts! 😋
