i also notice that fics with pictures and long summary tend to not do well anymore, unless you’re a popular writer or have a lot of followers 😭 i feel like people prefer the mininalist description(?) now with just normal/aesthetic dividers. it’s lowk crazyyyy how much the “trend” has changed in tumblr over the years

yeah I notice that too and it’s actually kinda sad that when you see fics that probably took more time and effort to post (like more creative or visual banners, longer fics, etc) just don’t do as well… as a long fic writer, sometimes that stuff is disheartening. it makes me wonder at times like why do I even write long fics and spend days on it when I know people are just gonna skim it over, even more so when I’m not writing smut. i will still post my writings tho, but i will admit i get thoughts like those sometimes LOL. but yeah defff the times have changed, and along with it the ‘trends.’ I can’t exactly blame anyone though because with how much is going on these days, it’s kinda normal that people just want a quick read, and I think tumblr isn’t exactly the best platform for longer fics or media that requires more time to consume, or more effort to be invested in – I think ao3 is more for that

i read a tiktok comment once that ao3 was for when you want something soul-crushing and required a little bit of time commitment to finish, and tumblr was for when you want a ‘good time.’ i kinda agree with that, I guess it’s just all knowing your audience and where to put your content

ooh I never finished it here on tumblr or on ao3 actually, and I have no plans to finish the series. If you scroll through the tags (I think the tag for it is series: reckless – I just hope I’m right lol) you should be able to find the ending I had in mind for it ^^ and thank you so much for loving the story!! It was def a challenging piece for me to write and I remember spending hours brainstorming with my friends to be able to come up with that, so it was really a special story to me 🥹 I’m beyond flattered that you loved it.
