emmelinechase:
emmeline shook her head as they headed towards the car, “mom may love what you do but do you?” she questioned, holding on to her sisters arm as they made their way through the paparazzi, shielding sulli the same way that she knew sullivan was shielding her, keeping each other out of dangers way. no harm would come to her sisters, no harm would come to sullivan– not while she was there. as emmeline took a seat in the car and the doors closed, the woman noted the tears that pooled in her sisters eyes. “you hate it..” she told her, realizing that the same face, the tears that sulli was keeping in were the same ones she kept in due to their mothers unwanted advice, her constant need to push. “you’re hurting yourself. mom is mom.” emmeline told her, “but if you told her – hell, if we all told her, perhaps, she’d change.” they had all yet to stand up to eve chase, but the time was coming. “sullivan, she may love what you do but it really doesn’t matter anymore does it? she may have pushed you to do it when you were sixteen, seventeen, twenty-one but you’re twenty three, sulli. you can tell her no.” emmeline’s eyebrows furrowed together, finally realizing how small and skinny her sister was, her skinny legs far more noticeable now that she had truly seen what she looked like. “you must tell her no. she loves you. sometimes,” she’s hard to love.. just like me. “sometimes, she’s tough on us but …she loves us, sulli. talk to her” when aidens name was brought up again, emmeline straightened up, an angry sigh falling from her lips. “how, how can i be happy for you when he’s years ahead of you? when he watch you grow up. he’s known you since you were little, sullivan! i –” she shook her head, “i believe you. that’s all you’re getting for now. and i can’t believe you didn’t tell me. i -” she remained quiet for a couple of minutes before finally speaking up. “mom will look through countless videos of chasing glory and come to her own conclusions,” the woman stated, “i don’t think she’d lie. i think when mother gets something in her head, she goes through with it until someone tells her she’s crazy.” emmeline shrugged before looking back at sulli, “we’d just have to wait and see.”
“fine, fine! i’ll talk to her but it won’t be any use, emmeline! i’ve tried!” and there was the truth, the truth she even held back from aiden. sullivan had begged their mother to let her stop, tried everything she could think of but their mother, being as hard headed as she was, refused to listen. “i’ve tried, i told her i hate it. i told her how lonely it is, how i sit backstage alone, holding back my panic and just hoping, praying, no one takes my photo. do you know they now look for me while i’m changing, emmy? they point their cameras into change rooms, behind curtains. mom has been there, she’s seen! she laughs, she doesn’t think it’s a big deal. she threatened to take away my trust fund, emmy. i know i’ve made money modelling but she’s in charge of everything, i don’t even know how much i have saved. i don’t-- i don’t know what to do, emmy. please tell me what i should do and i’ll do it.” sulli sighed, leaning back against the car chair. she collapsed into herself, trying to disappear until she saw her sister shrug. shrug! her anger boiled-- her head shaking, her hands shaking. “don’t-- don’t you dare.” sulli warned, sitting back up, turning to face her sister. “and you wonder why i didn’t tell you, god. this is his life we’re talking about, emmeline. my life. you can’t be this casual about it. you can’t shrug mom off like aiden doesn’t matter. he matters to me. i’m not going to wait and see. i’m going to stop her.”
