Summer Moon Monday Reflection

This week is mostly focusing on the character design of Fish and the Cat Smith.

I am still working on Fish's pet's design as well as roughly storyboarding out the short film.

Exploring Fish and The Cat Smith's dynamic

I want to display how these two will interact with one another; Fish sheepishly getting caught and in trouble, yet so mesmerized and unfrightened of the Cat Smith, and the Cat Smith unsure of how to handle a child yet annoyed will the continued presence. I want them to reflect on each other and explore a range of emotions that they both respond to seeing in the other to continuously build on their dynamic.

THE CAT SMITH

The Cat Smith is a high renown blacksmith who creates weapons for the mightiest heroes, her one flaw, her paws are too big by themselves for the detailed work. So to compensate, she has magical gauntlets that give her the ability for even the tiniest precision.

She is a stand-offish character who works alone and is not a fan of interruptions.

Her character design has developed a lot as well from a simpler cartoonish design to a large muscular lynx. While she may be simplified and have some color adjustments for animation's sake, her design for the most part is final.

FISH This is the main character Fish, a child who is on a mission to get their pet back. Fish has undergone a lot of style and color changes with the design and while I feel like the bottom images are almost there, I am still experimenting with color and shape so that they are animation friendly.
