Mercury Tying His Sandals, Jean-André Delorme
Jean-André Delorme (1829 - 1905), beautiful model of Mercury was exhibited at the Salon in plaster in 1876, then in marble in 1880; hailed as ‘one of the most beautiful statues to have appeared for half a century’) by the eminent critic M. Havard. The life-size marble was acquired by the French state and is now in the Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs of Lyon.
Jean-André Delorme (1829 - 1905), bela maquete de Mercúrio foi exposta no Salão em gesso em 1876, depois em mármore em 1880; aclamada como “uma das mais belas estátuas que surgiram em meio século”) pelo eminente crítico M. Havard. O mármore em tamanho real foi adquirido pelo estado francês e está agora no Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon
