I am so IN LOVE WITH THIS damn SKY!!!!
a short but very special playlist
This playlist has been slowly growing over the years but these are the songs I can listen to repeat without fail, for hours on end. Strange mix of tunes but they have a hold on my heart. These songs are literal magic to me. (not listed in order because what is favouritism? I don’t know.) 1. Foals - London Thunder Wow such magic. Lyrics that make my heart swell not because of semantics but because of the way it flows with the music. I feel lucky to be alive because I get to listen to this song. 2. Cub Sport - Come On Mess Me Up I can’t talk about this song without talking about the people behind the music. From their Cub Scout days when they played the tiniest gig I’ve been to in the basement of somewhere that I can’t remember - they’ve always had such a magical and lovable aura. I think the first time I heard this song was during their set for Like a Version actually, they played a bomb cover of Kanye’s ‘Ultralight Beam’ which is really fucking good btw. 3. Bruce Springsteen - I’m On Fire I loved this song from the get go. I always wished it went longer than 2 and something minutes but there’s no need to be greedy here. Is it weird to want this as my wedding song? 4. For Our Hero - Mid July Music from a whole other era of my life but I can never press skip on this song. It’s so smooth, like when you dip a spoon into a fresh jar of Nutella and let it run off slowly. 5. Troye Sivan - Blue (ft. Alex Hope) I feel as though a piece of my heart breaks off whenever I listen to this. It makes me feel so sad (I can feel sadness physically when I listen to this which is such a strange and surreal feeling to come from listening to a song) and reminds me of a shitty mcshit time and I hate that there are certain memories attached to this because it’s such a good song. 6. Lorde - Supercut This is a tentative one. Haven’t figured out whether this one belongs with the others or because it’s been somewhat relatable lately. This song is from an incredible, heart-wrenching but totally danceable album, which is exactly what she envisioned it to be.
7. Lowing - I Will Wait For You Hooked on the first listen. Stayed on repeat for the next month or so. Got one of my pals hooked on this song too. It’s a disease and there’s no cure.
Also how GREAT is it when you can feel songs grow on you and one day, you realise wow I’ve been listening to this song for days and these lyrics feel like they’ve been manifested from thoughts that I couldn’t make sense of before??!?!?!
