I never understood, in movies,

the way that women cry:

If anything happens don't save me

but save my baby!

How could they give up

everything for a life barely lived?

Barely able to survive?

Why not live

and try for another?

But then I got pregnant

waited for an eternity

and gave birth

None of which was easy.

Now, finally, I understand

is more important
