“well someone is.” rory looked at her conspiratorially. “you want to help an old man out, lennon? i could use a spy or two in the dorms. damn kids are stepping on the lichen, killing it left and right.”
“well i promise it isn’t me.” she gave him a winning smile. “i mean i can keep an eye out for sure, but i make no promises that i’ll be any help, not unless the dead lichen can talk because then you know they could just tell me who stepped on them.”
adley never meant to seek out pain, and yet it always seemed to follow her around anyway, when she had been younger she had never been able to tell when people needed healing, but it was something that she had grown to sense. hearing a voice as she sought out the sick person that was keeping her awake adley shook her head. “are you sick? or maybe you know which kid in here is? their illness won’t let me rest.” the healer chuckled with a small smile.
lennon shook hear head and sat upright on her bed. “uh- no sorry no sick people have stopped by here today and i never really get sick, but i could help you find them if you want?” she suggested. “or distract you from what i assume is some unnatural feeling that someone is sick?”
“Well aren’t you a rarity,” Devon chuckled at the young woman in her room. She was looking for one of her clients Natalya who had left her sweater and water bottle in Devon’s office earlier. Most students tend to keep their spaces closed off and private. They were being stripped daily to their core in hopes to equip them with the tools they needed to be as stable as possible. “I was just looking for someone to drop their things off. How’s it going?”
“i like to make the best of all situations, after all gotta keep up the namesake... you know, sunshine.” she said with a laugh, referring to her nickname. “it’s going pretty good, i had some fun training earlier and now i’m here just hanging out.” lennon shrugged.
rory had been pissed for most of the morning. a breech in the perimeter showed someone was going out into the forest to practice their powers; something that wasn’t necessarily punishable but the land outside of the institute was protected; even a little impact from humans would be terrible. he sat down in one of the patches of grass outside, piles of melted snow around him and scribbled in a notebook.
“you ever sneak out after hours?”
lennon spent her day bored out of her mind, sure she’d trained her one impressive skill but that was nothing, her other skill was so plain she didn’t know how it could be positive. so instead of dealing with her unhappiness she decided to go for a walk, until she was stopped by someone asking questions. “what? no why would i do that? may parents paid a lot of money for me to be comfortable here.. which i am.”
lennon sat on her bed with her feet up against the wall, playing music from her tv. she left her bedroom door open as often as she could, she felt it was the best way to meet people, plus her adoptive parents speant a lot of money for her to have a nice room here so she figured she could leave it open for people to stop by as much as they wanted. the girl glanced at the doorway and noticed someone there. “oh hey! can i help you?” she smiled.
❛ ALEXIS REN, 21, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER ❜ ― was that LENNON MARX? the COLLEGE JUNIOR has been attending for the foundation for FOUR YEARS. some say they are PLAYFUL, but they can also be POSSESSIVE. their mutations include light embodiment and death whispering, which may be why they also go by SUNSHINE.

lennon is likely the nicest person you’ll ever meet
she was born in vancouver, canada. an only child, and a perfectly normal girl until she was 13
when she was 13 lennon and her parents were in a car accident, the young girl barely made it out alive and her parents did not
while she was in the hospital she experienced her first mutation, death whispering.
from age 13 to 17 she bounced through the foster system but the houses she would be placed in were pleasant
at 15 she discovered her other mutation, light embodiment. her foster parents at the time were the ones who began looking for a special school for her
at 16 her foster parents adopted her and the entire family moved to minnesota, and when lennon started her last year of high school, she started with the phoenix foundation
she’s been there for four years now and she doesn’t mind it, but she does miss her old life, before the mutations
her nickname is sunshine because she’s so nice and with light embodiment she make her body blindingly bright, like the sun
adding this because drama, she once had an affair with her high school teacher, it kept going into her university years
