nolanfunk: What would you be drinking?
fashion forward. day seven.
Plain white shirt, pressed slacks, crisp black jacket and his charming smile, Sebastian Smythe was ready to make a good night. When he walked into the bar, Sebastian made a tribute nod to his favorite bar tender and went to his usual seat in the club. He smiled to his friends as they showed up, but in the back of his mind, he was really hoping that he could see Hunter.Â
Hunter was talented and perfect for Sebastianâs brand. Of course, he wanted to get to know Hunter better. Sebastian sat with his friends, models, designers, agents, tons of other big wigs from the fashion industry. When he made eye contact with Hunter, Sebastian waved at him to come join him at the big table. After greetings, Sebastian made room for Hunter.Â
âHope the place wasnât hard to find.â Sebastian asked.Â
Hunter walked into the club with some reserves about the night. It all seemed straightforward enough, it would appear Sebastian got and understood his message, but Hunter had still to see it with his own eyes. Looking the way he did, he had always been used to people trying to sleep with him, but ever since starting on the job, he had also started to find many that thought he owed it to them to sleep with them for his so called benefit. Still, he had liked Sebastian during auditions and he wanted to believe this would be fine.Â
As he stepped down onto the bar, it took him a few looks around to finally spot him, and when he did he smiled. Sebastian really was something when he wasnât trying to disguise himself as a tacky rookie, and he was even hotter than Hunter remembered. He mock saluted him when he waved and, after ordering himself a drink, easily made his way to him, flowing through the crowd. As he was introduced, he found that he recognized many of the faces looking back at him, and it made him more settled. Maybe this really was an advertising, half business meeting, or client suck up kind of thing, and Hunter could play the charming role perfectly. He smiled at them and made comments that made them smile back at him, before he sat down by Sebastianâs side.Â
âNot at all. Thatâs what phones are for.â He shook his head. âYou definitely do not look like a rookie tonight. Iâll drink to it.â He smirked, before he downed the silver bullet shot heâd carried over from the bar and set the glass down. He, himself, was dressed in a dark gray blazer with a black turtleneck underneath and black slacks. âSo, is this a celebration?â

Hunter nodded as he pushed his sleeves up to his elbows. The slightly oversized sweater showing off his collar bones, as he ran fingers through his hair, then finally settled. He smiled lightly at the way Sebastian looked him over, and felt somewhat good that his style was recognized. âThat was my thinking.â He agreed. âNot long.â He shook his head. âA little over a year and a half now. Had a chance encounter with an agent and he made me an offer. I accepted.â He hadnât exactly been in a position to refuse, homeless and desperate.Â
âItâd seem ex military brats make for fashion darlings. Now Iâm looking for something to settle that favoritism into hopefully something more long lasting.â He arched an eyebrow his look meaning that Sebastianâs brand was it. Or he hoped it would be. âI figured you seemed to be looking for the same thing.â He gave him a look, âOr was I wrong?â
Sebastian crossed his arms, listening lazily to the modelâs speech. He had to admit, he appreciated Hunterâs honesty and passion. The question was if it was enough for Sebastian to want Hunter to be his face. A year and a half was a baby compared to Sebastianâs near five years in the industry. He nodded along.Â
âI like that kind of determination.â Sebastian gave him a polite smile. âWe are. We are always looking for that kind of fresh confidence. Something that I like to show in the brand. Make people know that simple is a lot of the time all you need. I kind of like corky too. I can see that you too. Itâs hot.â Sebastian turned over his shoulder and made eye contact with his agent. âHey, how about you shoot me a text.â Sebastian reached into his wallet and handed Hunter his personal phone number. âIâve gotta go get ready for some things. Nice meeting you again. Maybe next time I wonât look so much like a rookie.âÂ

Sebastian leaned against the make up table and listened. Throughout his life, he was always grabbing at peopleâs opinions. Being in the fashion industry, this could be your success or your worse nightmare. With all the criticism of the industry, it was refreshing to hear admiration. He nodded along with the model. A smile came to his face.Â
âI appreciate that.â He told the other. It was funny to Sebastian that earlier that day, Hunter was ready to tear him a new asshole for being a noobie on set. But that was behind them now. âI can see with your day to day style that it fits.â Sebastian pointed out as he examined his attire. âHow long have you been modeling?âÂ
BAS: There will be some season hotties there, but mostly casual. But please keep your shirt on this time, I think there is a no shoes, no shirt, no service policy at the club.
BAS: Also, you can drop the s i r. Makes me feel like a weird sparkling Dom.
HUNT: I tend to keep all of my clothes on unless ordered otherwise, not to worry.
HUNT: As you wish. Just as long as there is no misunderstanding here, I'm not the sleep with the boss type.

HUNT: Hello, sir. Is this for a work appearance?

Sebastian looked into those sexy green eyes. He was lucky he was hotter than a California day or else Sebastian wouldâve fired him on the spot. He hummed as he glanced down at those perfect abs on more time before looking at his face. âNo.â He said. âTell wardrobe to give your hair a retouch before you go to your shoot.âÂ
He dismissed Hunter and went on to look at the next two models. They were easy to dress, just like Hunter. Soon Sebastian was there on the photo shoot. He wiggled himself behind the monitor and looked over the directorâs shoulder. Together they spoke through the photos. Sebastian watched Hunter and the other two girls. Lastly, he requested that all three of them have a photo shoot together.Â
âThatâs a wrap!â Sebastian shouted after the last frame was taken up. From that point, make up was done and packed up and wardrobe was getting packed. The only thing they needed back were the clothes. Sebastian was walking around the set as it was being broken down. His eyes landed on Hunter and he walked over. âYou looked good. Exactly what I expected from seeing your photos.âÂ
Hunter nodded at the orders, then turned and went to do as heâd been told. He did his job with the same focus as usual, posing as he was asked, showing off or reigning it back, doing the bad boy, the mysterious guy, even the romantic. When Sebastian sent in the girls to get pictures with him, he went through the same motions, posing sexily with them and letting himself be grabbed and kissed as necessary.Â
He was tired when it was over, but satisfied. He was getting the job heâd intended to when he got out of bed that morning, and got in some flirting with someone actually interesting to boot. He finally relaxed as he was out of the tight clothing and getting into his own, a soft gray sweater and some comfortable jeans.Â
He had just put on the former when Sebastian approached again and he nodded. âIâm glad. I appreciate your style, sir, itâs clean and classic and the brand has never thrown itself into idiotic trends for a money grab. It is the kind of name Iâd like to be associated with.â He told him, honestly.Â

âFirst Iâm Iâve ever been called a rookie, thatâs for sure.â He gave a playful signature wink. However, his face fell when Hunter draped the jacket over the couch. âAlways loved it when a man tosses off my jacket, especially with a sense of eagerness. But how about we save that for the bedroom, or the office. Unless youâre just that excited to see me.â The designer stepped back to get the jacket and hang it up. He side eyed the other. Heâd forgive the original time Hunter was disrespectful, but Sebastian wasnât going to stand for the disrespect of his clothes.Â
He turned to the rack and then pulled out a light bleach splattered jean for him. He handed it to him. Sebastian looked down at the clothes he wore. âAs much as I claim to my Kardasian persona, even I canât care those level ta tas on me.â He fished through the shirts and settled on a plain button up, one that went perfectly with jeans. He also grabbed a plain black belt. âI think I want this shirt on you but unbottoned.â Sebastian commented.
This was the hard part about being a gold star gay in the fashion community. He hated to admit that Hunter was just too damn sexy. His green eyes mauled over that manâs great abs. Something he could get away with staring. His eyes went to Hunter as he put on Sebastianâs projected look. âYeah, letâs feature those abs.âÂ
Hunter chuckled very quietly, but nodded. âCertainly. I was very eagerly told to strip, but not how. I shall pay closer attention to it next time.â He promised. In his teasing he had forgotten how attached to their pieces designers usually were.Â
âI assure you word I am rarely excited, and never easily.â  He watched as Sebastian seemed to analyze the options and pursed his lips slightly but didnât comment on the Kardashian bit. Should be ironic that he was a model which was really very uninterested in the gossip, the tabloids and the latest trend, but ever since he started in the industry he found that most models were like him. Very few were the ditsy, screaming teen girl type. He accepted the jeans and gracefully slipped into them, zipping them up and smirking sideways at the comment on the shirt, he put his arms through it and adjusted the front, leaving it open as instructed.
âAs you wish.â He nodded, not batting an eye at being ogled and just standing tall as he allowed Sebastian to look as much as he wanted to. He licked his lips discreetly and nodded again. âOf course.â He said before sliding the belt on and buckling it. âAnything else?â

âFantastic.â He said as he crossed his legs. âYouâre still going to do your photo shoot, we already paid the photographer. Hopefully that doesnât turn out of be a rookie performance because even though I have already put you on the way to being my next face, youâre still on the chopping block.â A polite smile came to his lips. His focus shifted to the other two models as well. âGo get ready for the photo shoot and be sure to thank your fellow models that just walked off because youâre getting their frames. Iâll be selecting your clothes for this evening. Thank you.âÂ
He smiled as they left and looked over at his casting agent. They shared some conversation before he got up and joined the models back stage. After thirty minutes, he joined the models back stage. He walked over to his clothes and started to shift through them. The agent went to get Hunter so that Sebastian could pick out the his clothes.
âHello rookie.â Sebastian taunted him as he came up. âIâm hoping that we donât have to paint on your abs like I have to paint on my assistant outfit.âÂ
"I wouldnât have it any other way, sir.â He continued to tease, raising both eyebrows slightly. He pressed his lips not to chuckle at âwe already paid the photographer, but let it be, not wanting to be openly disrespectful to his new boss. Hunter had never cowered in front of adversity or a challenge. He would had never made it through his childhood much less the throat-cutting fashion industry, otherwise.
Hunter nodded at the order, with the others, and walked off, leading the pack as usually and all the way to the racks of clothing and where the cameras had already been set up against a dark red velvety background. He stood there as anxious assistants started moving about and had just been told by a seamstress to âstripâ when Sebastian reappeared, and he was told, instead, to follow. He smiled sideways and walked behind her towards the other, stopping by the rack which he seemed to be examining. He heard him and huffed lightly. âNot going to let that go, are you?â He asked, not that bothered and mostly amused.Â
At the question he smirked and pulled his - or rather Sebastianâs - jacket, and then shirt off, throwing them over a nearby couch, âI suppose youâll have to judge for yourself.â He told him, before also taking off his pants, standing there in his underwear, arching an eyebrow in question. Is this good enough for you? âDonât be so hard on yourself, for someone with fashion sense, you did an excellent job disguising it, with your outfit before.â

Sebastian tilted his head at the statement. He had half a mind to combat the other in his obvious rude statement. However, he kept his composure. Hunter was keeping him on his toes. âBusinessmen always have a crude plain sense of fashion donât they?â Sebastian eyed him up and down. Sebastian blinked at the other when mentioned it. Sebastian took this cue to go take pictures of the other models back stage.Â
None were as feisty or questioning as Hunter. The others allowed nature to run itâs course. Sebastian went on to the runway to start watching the show. He took a position in the back of the auditorium and looked through the pictures quickly. Some stood out to him. One of them being the first model he shoot while in the back.Â
When the music started, he looked up and watched with interest. Since it was later in the casting call, the amateurs were weeded out and the level was elevated. Sebastian move forward between models to sit behind his agent. After the show, the agent called all the models to stand in a line. The agent looked back and spotted Sebastian. Being one of his most loyal employees, she recognized the man instantly. She went back to him and started to speak to him. While the models stood there, they whispered harsh critiques and the decision.Â
She stood up and without any remorse, she released seven models unexpectedly. After they left in clear disappointment, she smiled at the three remaining. She spoke in her clear tone voice. âThat was a bit unexpected. Then againâŚâ She looked back with her mouth open.
Something out of a cheesy show, Sebastian lifted his glasses and pushed up his his hat on cue. He revealed his signature fade and meerkat shaped face. âCongratulations.â He mused as he tilted his head at their reactions. A girl next to Hunter gasped and clapped her hands to her mouth. She let out a small squeal and hopped in excitement. âAll of you will be walking for me in tomorrow nightâs fashion show. Hunter Clarington, Iâd like you to open for me. Any issues?â Two of the models shook their head rapidly.Â
The process was quicker than heâd expected, they got two walks each, in different outfits, and after it was done, instead of the photoshoot Hunter thought was gonna happen, they were instead all summoned to the juriesâ table. He stood with his hands clasped behind his back, in military form, it being an ingrained habit in him, just like his straight posture and shoulders. He watched Julia get up and raised his chin a little, waiting. And then she looked back and walked backwards towards... The rookie from before. Hunter rose an eyebrow. It seemed he really wasnât an assistant.Â
He watched them whisper and felt the restlessness of one of the boys standing by his side. He waited, controlling his breathing and keeping calm and collected himself, until she read out the names that hadnât passed and a hint of pleasure came to his face. And then the boy was stepping forward as well and taking off his hideous items to fully show his face.Â
Hunterâs expression was briefly surprised before it switched to slightly impressed, a quirk to the corner of his mouth. He wasnât worried, if Sebastian hadnât liked him, heâd been thrown out already. Of course he knew who it was, Sebastian Smythe was one of the reasons he had said yes when heâd been invited to this selection. He really liked his classic sense of style and the usual non nonsense fashion of the brand. He smiled at him when he spoke his name, and nodded curtly.
âNo, sir.â He said, smirking softly. âNone at all.â His eyes said, I guess you did enjoy the show. Hunter wasnât interested in sleeping his way to the top and this did put a damper on his half formed plan of hitting on the clueless rookie later but it wasnât that great a loss, heâd trade a one night stand for success any day of the week. âIs there anything else weâre needed for today, besides fitting?â
Undercover. day one.

Sebastian raised his camera and snapped a couple of picture of the male before he glanced down at it through his sunglasses. He smirked at the quality; The boy could take some very good pictures. He was personally impressed with the product. However, the attitude, Sebastian could see a bit of his own straight forward harshness projected through Hunter.
Oh, how fashion has betrayed him. Of course, Sebastian didnât own a piece under 150$. The hard life of owning too much money. âGood eye monsieur, my sugar daddy picked these out for me.â A chuckle escaped his lips. Never had he met a model this sharp. âJust be you and by that statement, it seems like thereâs a lot of you to capture. I need to gather photos of the other models. Maybe if Iâm liking what else youâve got, Iâll give you some more frames. Never said that I was an assistant. And donât worry too much about who I am.âÂ
In his mind, he left the words âand youâll find out soon enoughâ off the end.Â
Hunter quirked an eyebrow when the other seemingly ignored or sidestepped his question about him ogling him. If he wanted to play it that way... Mostly it was good just to have a distraction, not that Hunter was usually an anxious person in any way but it couldnât hurt to not even have the opportunity given for nerves to set in. He heard him and scoffed a little before he could even think of stopping himself. Somehow he couldnât see the boy with a sugar daddy, but to each his own. Hunter had nearly considered it before finding this model gig.Â
He shrugged. âSeems your sugar daddy needs better taste to match his wallet.â He taunted, though his tone was light. He gave him a skeptical look and though he did recline back slightly on the seat he shook his head. âI have never really been interested in bribery. If they think Iâm good enough, more or less pictures, doesnât really matter. When youâre the type, it just takes one.â He glanced at his watch and got up, âTime to dazzle. Hope you enjoy the show, rookie.â He said as he passed him by, walking out to take his place in line and focus as the first boy started to walk down the improvised black catwalk that ended up where the selection team was sat.Â
Hunter wasnât quite desperate for the job, not as heâd been a couple of years back, but he knew that getting it would help cement him in the industry as more than the last flavor of last year, and when his cue came, he walked down the catwalk like he owned it and the job was already his.
Undercover. day one.

Face dressed with round sunglasses and a dreadfully lame fedora, Sebastian Smythe entered the building completely unrecognizable to anybody. When questioned by a stylist, he flashed his signature meerkat shaped face to her. She gasped and nodded in understand when he pressed his finger to the tip of his lips. She went about her business with a smile on her face.Â
He looked around the room. For some of the patrons, he saw a model instantly. Others werenât so convincing. One male particularly stood out. Maybe it was because of how damn good Sebastianâs clothes looked on him. His lips curled into a smile as he took out the small camera. He wanted to capture the moment, but was surprised by the catty attitude the model threw at him. Ordinarily, Sebastian wouldâve been offended. But he knew if the model really knew who he was talking to, then it would be a different story.Â
A coy smile came to his lips. He spoke with a fake French accent. âDonât mind me, Lionheart. Taking pictures of backstage for the judges. Just go about your way and turn that pretty model face on.â He told him as he lazily lifted the camera up.Â
"Well, in that case...â Hunter somewhat jokingly struck a pose for him, before raising his eyebrows and smirking. âIs it your job to ogle as well?â He taunted, before he tilted his head slightly, something about the man seemed familiar. âHave you been in the business for long? You donât look like an assistant.â Despite the few years in which heâd been destitute, Hunter had been born in high society - and even if he hadnât been, heâd been in the fashion industry for long enough now to recognize the difference between expensive and knock offs.Â
As embarrassing as the outfit the other was wearing might be, the items were still expensive. âNot many assistants walking around in Gucci.â He commented offhandedly. âOr are you just here to make an impression on someone?â He glanced at him as he sat back down and opened his arm in an offering gesture, âIn any case, Iâll play. What are your instructions for me, how do you want me?âÂ
He held his gaze as he asked, purposefully lingering, though he didnât betray any emotions. âI have many facets to capture, Mr. ...?âÂ
Undercover. day one.
Hunter was just finishing adjusting his outfit when he felt the eyes on him. It was a sensation heâd always been more or less accustomed to, but much more so since becoming a model. He finished up and got to his feet, shaking his shoulders so his jacket would fall on more naturally. His hair had already been done by the studioâs hairstylist, and they had been ordered to have no make up on, still, he ran his fingertips lightly on the side of it, before turning around. âMay I help you?â He asked, with heavy sarcasm on his tongue. Not that he didnât enjoy ego boosting, but for a while now, since his name had kind of exploded worldwide he found himself getting more annoyed than pleased.
Despite that, he still took a discrete second take when he finally laid eyes on who had been spying on him. Cute, not that he showed it, keeping his expression schooled. âIf you are looking for directions, youâd be better off walking back out the door, newbie, the walk will start in five minutes. Perhaps you should invest in time management for your next selection.â He quirked an eyebrow.
