My first post touched on Affiliate Marketing as a business & how people perceive the business. In this post, we'll look at some of the things you are going to need & to get you started.
Another common perception once people start to understand more about Affiliate Marketing is to do it, you need a lot of money in the first place.
Again, that's another nonsense statement. Sure you might need some to get you started & possibly the more you can set aside, the greater your chances of success.
Let's not forget, this is a business & just like any business you might set up in the 'real world' you are going to need some kind of investment in to your business.
The first thing you're going to need is dedicated email addresses for your business. Don't use your personal ones, get new ones so that you can keep all your business emails organised.
I recommend using Gmail because they're secure, easy to use, you can attach additional resources to them later, some of them we will cover in future posts. Most of all though it's simple to set up & it's free.
Set up a couple of email addresses, one for all your important stuff and one for your spam. Yes, as an Affiliate Marketer you're going to get an increased amount of spam yourself.
Whenever you sign up for things, always use the email address you want spam to go to because that's the one you're likely to get hit with the most. Obviously important things such as login information etc you should forward to your other email address.
Once you're set up with email, you're then going to need what is known as an Auto Responder. This is basically as it sounds, it responds automatically to certain email you might receive once you have set it up.
Did I tell you, the money is in the list? How many times have you heard that before? I bet you hear it nearly every day. Basically, if you're really new to online business and Affiliate Marketing, your list will be a collection of email addresses from potential customers.

Those are the absolute basics of what you need to get started in Affiliate Marketing. You don't need your own blog, you don't need your own website.
