how old do you think farquaad is??? i’ve been struggling to figure this out for a long time. i feel like in the movie vs musical they might be different ages?? and i was just kind of headcanoning him to be like late 30s or exactly 40 in the musical since christopher sieber was 40 playing him,,,, and some people think he’s 28 bc of the musical but i figured he probably wouldn’t have gone from being kicked out of his father’s home in the musical canon to the lord of duloc within such a short period of time????? i’ve come around to headcanoning him as like 35 but i guess it would also make sense if he was 30 and just looked 40 because it’s the middle ages lol. personally i think it would be cleaner if he was 30, since in the musical i think shrek and fiona are also supposed to be 30????? + since it’s fiction he could probably go from basement dweller to lord of duloc within 2 years i just don’t think it would happen literally in the same year

i’m not sure, what do you think? my knowledge of farquaad is kind of limited by me being focused on specifically musical quaad so wanted to see if you knew more about it. also, how the hell did he become lord of duloc (considering he wasn’t hereditarily bound to that position)?? what was that journey even like????? i’ve been trying to figure that out too but that might be a question for another day

Oooh musical Farquaad does seem more youthful (or then it's just his flamboyancy lol). If we IGNORE all the brainstorming below and movie Farquaad completely, musical Farquaad being in his 30s could be plausible - like maybe he was planning his "kingdom" all that time after being kicked out?

With the wrinkles and baritone voice movie Farquaad has, I've rounded him at 40yo personally! Sieber being 40 could make musical quaad that age too who knows? But that leaves so many mysteries..⬇️

That question nags at me too; in the original movie plot, Duloc was Fiona's parents' kingdom, and when they died, he stole their throne.. But they obviously scratched that, so we have no clue who owned it before or where he teleported from??? In the Shrek 4-D ride queue, there was a poster that indicates Farquaad usurped(?) Duloc in a very short period of time, but nothing makes sense dude.
