so I don't think it will get scrapped, but postponed until I rewrite it, maybe even changing some points, like what I planned for Jena, the relationship between her and Baelor, and of course Baelor and Maekar because maybe they should be evil actually, and then the timeline of Daeron getting married to Valarr, also the relationship between Maekar, Dyanna and Daeron because it's still too happy, I think it can be worse

so yeah, it will come out, faster than the season 2 I assume, but not soon

just yapping about how everyone's happy and stuff, a little baekar baby just for the love of the game, and nothing more, I didn't really know how to finish it tho and it seemed too cliché even for me, so I scrapped that, it will sit locked in my google docs ig?

as for what comes next, I don't really know yet? had some ideas here and there, even for a HxH crack fic just for my own amusement, but at the moment I can't lock my mind on anything

been working on my own project so maybe I'll slowly dive into that a bit?

there's a bridgerton-inspired one-shot with Maekar and Daeron that I've been planning, so maybe I'll also move on with this one?

we all have our jena-opinions (jenapinions?) but i looove seeing her as this nearly maternal figure to tween maekar. even more when theres hammeranvil involvement. and especially in the light of the "mother loved you best" line from lyonel to baelor.

hear me out on this one !!! omegaverse au where omega!jena witnesses angry unpresented tweenager pup maekar trailing after her husband-to-be and her first reaction is "aww whose cute baby is that!". well that baby is king daeron's, but it's clear he craves attention like air and smells like alpha!baelor because of how much time he spends around him, and so jena takes it upon herself to take care of him

and maekar is... maybe happy. he's not sure. comforted? he hadn't smelt an omega as happy as jena in... forever, maybe. hadn't been in an actual nest in years. maybe both daeron and myriah are betas, and maekar is the youngest, so they just assumed he'll be okay. well, now he's been swept up by jena and whenever baelor is unavailable due to the mounting amount of responsibilities as the heir, maekar is with jena. he starts to smell like her, too, they take all their meals together. they fawn over baelor together

after jena and baelor marry and mate, he's not that angry and jealous - still some rage lingers, come on, that's maekar -, because he's always sneaking into their bed at night to snuggle anyways. he might be fourteen but cuddle time with big brother and goodsister is mandatory. (besides, it's not like he can fall asleep peacefully without their scents anymore). when jena has her heats, her mind registers maekar as her own pup to take care of.

and then maekar presents as an omega. the first thing he thinks is "i need to get to jena". because jena will take care of him, and she'll make sure he's safe, and she'll call for baelor. she'll make it okay.

and then. well. hammeranvil + jena threesome and rushed shotgun marriage? if jena is down, baelor is claiming maekar at the soonest opportunity.😛

Do you think Baelor and Maekar ever get emo over the fact that Valarr (son most like Baelor) and Aerion (son most like Maekar) didn't actually go crazycrazy for each other like Baekar did and get married and have a billion babies and instead quietly went off the rails in diff directions from each other or

saw on twitter someone comparing Maekarlings to Gallaghers from Shameless, so I'm asking an expert (you) for any input on it

okay that expert part really cracked me up 😭

I did watch the US version of Shameless, obv, but for the last seasons I kinda skipped most of them, looking for Gallavich moments only? .

so Aerion is Debby, actually, because he too would babytrap some poor guy (Dunk.) and then bitch about the consequences of being a teen parent, probably also trying to steal stuff or even abandoning the baby for some time, then he repeats the process, annoying the whole family with his entitled behaviour (how on earth does he get pregnant? idk, life finds a way)

I wanna say Egg is kinda like early seasons Carl? like, what haven't that guy done, really... but also, not exactly? he would get into some shit, trying to earn his way through life by his street smarts? I feel like he would also meet an oblivious Dunk in the neighbourhood one day and now they're a package deal

Aemon is Lip for me, but he would stick to his chance and finish college? like, he would try to help the family but in the end he'd be pushed by his parents (Maekar) to focus on getting the degree, so scratch all this stuff Lip was going through (romance, rehab, etc) because Aemon would be pressured into being the proper and calm one, the only kid who's actually getting somewhere in life?

and, realistically speaking, Daeron has the most Frank vibes 😭 maybe not as destructive as Frank was, but first he's a teenager who's going to school only to sell drugs or do drugs, then he's a grown man who cannot keep a job for more than few months and still spends most of his time drunk or high? he also could have a teen pregnancy but let's keep that out for now

I mean, both Daeron and Aerion could be mixed with Ian but frankly, I wanna give his storyline to Daella

so Daella as Ian, but she's not their cousin, no affairs here 😭 so there's her struggling with bipolar disorder like he did, discovering and getting comfortable with her sexuality... she still does sneak out to join the army, she goes to jail, and she does marry her long-term girlfriend kinda thing (YURI TIME)

and then there's Rhae left as Liam, the baby of the family, she's just there going through it, I wanna say the history would repeat itself and like Liam, she would also take Daeron's drugs on accident?

as for the parents and the background, teen pregnancy, both got kicked out, bought a house on a loan, and then life somehow went through?

I don't think Dyanna would abandon her kids like Monica did, so once again, she just died in an accident maybe? but until she was around, she obviously well loved her kids, even when she was too busy with work, trying to keep the house afloat alongside Maekar

as for Maekar, he also loves his kids but in a tougher way, he's working two jobs, paying off loans, seemingly running the household like navy but he's still failing at looking after his kids? he's constantly beefing with Daeron, hoping he'll get sober, then with Aerion bc teen pregnancy, his only hope for doing anything right is Aemon who's away at college

none of them is exactly like Fiona, I think, technically Daeron could play the part in some ways, but I don't really think he's like her

What if the pregnancy and the labour had left lasting effects on Maekar? Maybe he is not as strong as he used to be, maybe sometimes he struggles to stand up and can't go in the yard as often because he gets tired after sparring for a bit and some days are worse than others? Ohh imagine the Maesters telling Baelor that this could have been avoided if they had not ignored Maekar's weakness throughout the pregnancy or something like that? 😭

okay, the thought of Baelor trying to show Maekar that yes, intercourse can be good! is so funny because why do I think he would suddenly act so awkward and shy and not sure if he should do that 😭

and when Maesters tell Baelor that it could've been avoided... well, he's doing a walk down the memory lane, thinking about every time he saw Maekar looking rough and sick, about every time he ignored it...

So I found your rose garden au and love it!

And I was thinking! What if the reason Baelor snaps out of it is because the person he was supposed to marry visits? For the sake of simplicity let’s call the omega Leo.

Like I’m imagining that Leo and Maekar sre probably close in age. There isn’t a large age gap between the brothers to begin with.

So Maekar and Baelor’s fiancé do actually like each other. Maekar has a bit of a crush on his brother and also has a temper but he’s being a realist. He’s heard the whispers of rebellion and he knows they need allies and he knows he can’t force his brother to love him so he makes nice with the fiancé and discovers a genuine friendship. Leo likes many of the same things which makes sense cause they’re things Maekar and Baelor bond over as well. And Maekar thinks he could actually share the spot of pack omega with this person.

One day they go on a ride or face each other in the tourney and Leo gets hurt. He can’t have kids now and is sent away without really being able to say bye to Baelor.

It hurts at first but he heals and makes peace with his new situation. A part of him wants to talk to the two brothers but he hears about their marriage and doesn’t think he’s healed enough to face them. He hears about their children too and thinks maybe they’re happy together and it would hurt too much to face it.

Eventually he does get married. Maybe as a second spouse to a minor lord who already had heirs and is looking for companionship. Maybe he falls in love with a third or fourth son that does not care about having kids. Either way, Leo finds a happy ending.

Eventually he has a chance to go to the Keep and with his new alpha by his side he feels much more ready for it. It would be nice to get closure and maybe he can deepen relations between the crown and his new family.

He goes there, meets the king the queen the heir and the kids but there’s no Maekar. When he asks the kids about him there’s no real answer. And the way Baleor speaks about him is odd. Baelor had always spoken about Maekar lovingly but now there seems to be anger. At first Leo thinks maybe the marriage is rocky right now or maybe this is how Baelor is with a suppose in which case he’s happy they didn’t get married.

However, one night when they’re drinking together Baelor let’s some stuff slip that is really concerning but Leo is smart and plays along and finds a way to get Baelor to take him to the omega.

The next morning they visit Maekar and Leo is horrified. He turns to Baelor and says ‘I’m glad I didn’t marry you if this is how you treat someone you loved that made a mistake. I’d rather be nobody’s husband then consort to an abusive alpha prince.’

That finally snaps him out of it. Cause Leo is the one person who should be angry, should revel in Maekar’s misery but he’s horrified instead. It forces Baelor to actually look at what he’s done. And you bet Leo is also asking for an audience with the king and queen. They used to like him and listen to him and feel the shame of turning a blind eye.

I imagine Baelor and Maekar have around 3-4 kids at this point.

like, I lowkey have no words because that's literally what should happen at some point of this AU? I think there was one ask that mentioned the kids meeting with Baelor's OG bethroted but that was after Maekar's passing?

The mental image of Daemon continually failing at hitting on Maekar while Baelor just breezes through is so. Daemon "you're so beautiful" and Maekar rolls his eyes like everyone knows I'm hideous and pox scarred what do you want. Baelor "you're so beautiful sweetling" and Maekar is blushing, playing with his hair like oh reallyyyyyy. Daemon spars with him and Maekar nearly kills him, Baelor spars with him and he and Maekar walk away all smiley like you're so strong, no YOU'RE so strong. Daemon asks him to dance at a ball and Maekar's like I don't dance, Baelor asks and they spend an hour on the dance floor. Maekar doesn't even realize he's curving Daemon he's just all about Baelor. Baelor is all about Maekar and plotting Daemon's death

this is so funny, like 😭

looking at all his life achievements, Daemon has to have some kind of negative aura situation going on, or maybe he's just into being constantly humiliated

imagine if they reunite on Redgrass, just for funsies

and Daemon is yelling something about how Maekar always refused him and humiliated him in the court, how now the tables will turn and Maekar's just staring at him very confused because "what do you mean you were hitting on me???"

and then Bloodraven shots Daemon ig?

I wonder what really killed him, the arrows or the embarrassment he must've felt...

This made me wonder, imagine a conversation between Maekar and Baelor where Maekar is confused why people talk about the pleasure of coupling when it's a painful affair. Baelor is confused before remembering the only experience Maekar ever had was their wedding night where Baelor was cruel to him and left him crying bitterly, so this has led Maekar to believe that it is a painful thing he must bear for the sake of duty. Baelor is rightfully horrified and guilty 😭

and then the topic kinda dies, Maekar's back to whatever he was doing (why did I imagine them having a supper, like a talk over a meal) while Baelor’s just blankly staring at him, wondering if he knows he just nuked him with seemingly casual topic

how does he explain that to Maekar, I wonder? because admitting that he hated him on their first night, that he wanted him to feel hurt, that he left him so violated but vulnerable on purpose...

that would be even worse than all that he'd already done

Maekar’s his padawan.

The only real flirtation/affection Baelor let himself have (yeah, side order of groomspear) was a gentle tug on his padawan’s braid. After he’s knighted, Maekar grows out his hair and Baelor’s always grabbing the braid when he’s hitting it from behind and Maekar whines and calls him master.

cackled so bad at "side order of Groomspear" 😭

why did I imagine Maekar with Obi-Wan-styled hair, the Attack of the Clones one... that wig was so beautiful...
