Growing up, people in Julietta's life always described her as a machine. That little Julietta is going to go far. Driven by a perfectionist personality and ambitious parents, Juloetta always excelled.
She didn't make choices in her first life, she simply followed the rulebook. Private school, Stanford, Obsidian Holdings, promotion, promotion, husband, kids. Julietta blinked and suddenly she was 30 and completely unsure how she had gotten here. She hated who she had become and who she was surrounded by.
Her and her ex-husband just made sense. Both employees with Obsidian Holdings, they had the perfect marriage, the perfect house, and two perfect babies. Jay Jay always knew that she was holding something back. She loved her kids, loved her family, but every other part of her life, her career, she was dying to get out.
She had been planning a way out for a while, Obsidian Holdings had eyes and ears everywhere, and she knew too much to simply walk away. She had been collecting dirt in the background, building up the courage to use it. Before she could go, however, the person she trusted most betrayed her. Her husband told the board she was planning to quit. She had no interest in hearing the reason why he'd done it. She moved out that night, the next morning she reached out to a contact in the Cowboy Mafia and got herself out.
They helped her quit safely and taught her how to use the videos to get a decent payout. With that money, and a loan from the Cowboy Mafia, she was able to buy the Lost Horse Saloon. Part of the conditions of the loan was allowing the Cowboy Mafia to conduct business in the bar. She had not intended to get more involved than that, but she was too curious not to listen in, too much of a perfectionist not to give her opinions. She became more and more involved overtime. In some ways it was a distraction, something to do on the nights her house was empty and her ex-husband had the kids.
She had to start over, and part of that was shedding a name that felt like a part of her first life. Instead she started going by Jay Jay.
The Cowboy Mafia was not something you could easily stay on the periphery of. 2 years after leaving obsidian holdings, she was underwent her initiation and got her brand. It was the perfect mixture of Initiation and warning. Kidnapping another person in debt to the Mafia and holding them hostage in her bar for a week before their family paid off the loan (plus an extra fee for their troubles). Jay Jay could not help but spend the ceremony that followed musing on how badly things could go for her if she stepped out of line.
Jay Jay considers herself to be the unofficial mum of the Cowboy Mafia. The bar is open to members any time of night, and they often come stumbling in after a job, knowing Jay Jay will be there ready to clean them up, hide the evidence and get them a drink to calm their nerves. All done with the same meticulous efficiency she bought as a business women.
