Within the Meridian Empire, the Orwell Archipelago is considered newly acquired territory, having resolved its disputed status through police action. The islands themselves are claimed by Bufferia and are, de jure, disputed as recognized by foreign states.
The Western Colonies were annexed by the Meridian Empire during the Steam Wars and is the site of several decadesā worth of Meridianese settlement over the course of its existence. Once considered a money pit, the colony was made profitable through paternalistic governance and several concessions of self-rule made to the native Campbellian policies.
The removal of a much-loved viceroy with an unpopular successor with regressive policies led to open ethnic conflict between the native Campbellians and the colony-born Meridian settlers.
The flag of the colony is a Meridian-inspired color variant of the traditional pattern used in the vexilloids representing the peoples of Campbell, defaced with the Meridian Compass. An alternate pattern, using gray as the base color, is utilized by the presently defunct Peopleās Front of Campbell.
FedNet is the United Federationās answer to the ARPANET and NFSNet of pre-Leveler times. It is a military-run system of computer networks that allow for near-instantaneous transfer of small electronic documents across vast distances. The computers are arranged in such a way that enables its continued usage even in the event of the destruction of any of its nodes.
Although far from lightning-fast, FedNet facilitated the quick transfer of military and later academic documents.
Usage Policy
Use of the FedNet is heavily restricted, with a user only ever authorized one access identity throughout their lifetimes. Should they lose this access, they would need to file for retrieval, a process which requires stringent proofs of identity and would on average take five business days to complete.
Typical FedNet users include military intelligence personnel, collegiate researchers, and academic facilitators. Corporate users are limited; only authorized personnel from military and academic affiliates are given any access to FedNet.
Nonmilitary personnel are rarely given permanent access, although their user access identities are recycled each time. Collegiate researchers and corporate representatives alike are given temporary access and must file for renewal every six months.
FedNet fora are notorious for their formality. Anonymity does not exist in this setting and the zero-tolerance policy (which leads to an extended ban on the first offense and a community service charge on the second, followed by another community service charge and a permanent ban on the third) is claimed by critics to be draconian and excessive. Users with a pending court case are suspended indefinitely.
A few rules merit an instantaneous lifetime ban; the biggest of them is the physical assault of a FedNet user.
Connections
FedNet is exclusive to the United Federation. Government offices and academic institutions from 21 cantons of the United Federation and the Principality of Barrie have access to the network.
All cantons and client states with FedNet access must remain compliant with its policies for it to retain access. FedNet is, as the name suggests, a Federal-level entity, and connections to it are administered through the Federation Military Communication Office.
Sub-cantonal-level government offices and academic bodies must apply for FedNet connectivity, a process that takes at least three months.
Sakoroan Internet
Sakoro is the lone canton not incorporated into the FedNet, having its own publicly available Internet, a commercial network using the same network architecture.
Sakoroans utilize the Internet as a primary communication tool, in contrast to the secondary nature of the FedNet, and they have created several specialist technologies to serve its userbase in splendid isolation. The Internet, much faster than FedNet, is accessible across several platforms made specifically for the Sakoroan market.
Although the Internet was once allowed some access to the larger FedNet, the connection between the two has been severed due to the current cantonal governmentās consistent noncompliance with FedNetās stringent rules on non-anonymity and social behavior protocol, as well as serious allegations of leaking sensitive political documents and doctoring public records.
The Sakoroan government has been alleged to use their Internet to promote partisan politics and fund disinformation campaigns, and due to anonymity, Internet users in Sakoro are often considered crass, irrational, impolite, and hateful. Moreover, the Internetās frequently inaccurate information are thought to have contributed to fanatical populism and backlash against government opposition and criticism now common in Sakoroan politics.
This behavior, constantly reported across more traditional media channels across the Federation, has not only led to the suspension of all Sakoroan user access identities and any Sakoroan connections to the FedNet, but has put popular opinion against making the FedNet publicly available.
DiploNet
A smaller network, built on the same protocols, is DiploNet. DiploNet is used by embassies connected to the United Federation and facilitates the effective transfer of diplomatic communiques overseas. Federation embassies in other nations have both FedNet and DiploNet connections, wheras embassies within the Federation are connected to their foreign counterparts and the Federation embassies solely through DiploNet.
The two largest cities in the planet in terms of population are also home to notable urban aesthetics music scenes that have become synonymous with their metropolitan culture.Ā
Downtown Downtempo
Galt is the capital of the United Federation and is the planet's largest city in terms of area and population. Once a wide, unwanted plain near the Affiliated Territory of Tezuka in the Federation of Soren, it houses nearly 27 million people in an area the size of a small country. It became the Federation's new capital upon internal unification, purpose-built around the nearby villages and railway lines of the unassuming canton of Tezuka to avoid Soren's domination should the old headquarters, Marshall Yard, remain the center of government. A boom town, the city sprang up into its present state in less than 100 years.
It's famed for its brands of easy listening music, ideal for relaxing after a hard day. Many Galtan residents set their watch to the genre of music that fits the atmosphere of the city. Slow Jazz and blues are a popular favorites in the wee hours past midnight, whereas the more upbeat yet relaxed Downtempo being the music of choice around sundown and throughout the first half of the evening.
Updown Dichotomy
Though smaller than the Federation capital Galt and about three million shy of its counterpart's population, Babel is the most densely populated city in the planet, holding more than a third of the population of the Republic of Shinar. The densely packed city is covered almost completely in skyscrapers and is inhabited by more 24 million people who reside from penthouses and top-floor shacks to basement apartments and capsule hotels imported from Galt.
Likewise, the musical tastes indicate the cultural upbringings of the Shinarian inhabitants. Jazz is the primary musical genre of the upper and middle classes who reside in upper floor apartments, whereas the lower middle and underclasses, who live in lower-floor districts veer toward synthpop and new wave. Babelese music influenced that of the Republic itself, creating a fusion of the two styles that have become very popular in all segments of Babelese and Republican Shinarian society.
Besides being the worldās largest city in terms of area and population, the Federation capital Galt it is known for its extensive system of light and heavy passenger railways. Indeed, Galt is also poeticallyknown as the City of a Thousand Trains.
Although elevated railways are a common sight throughout the city, with many passenger stations connecting directly to many major landmarks in places like the Smith Park business district, the most extensive of the railway systems in the city is located underground.Ā Ā
The Galtan Catacombs (Katakomboj) is a broad network of subways, stations, and interconnected underground paths and shopping and living spaces spread out across the entirety of the Galt Metropolitan Area. Many of these stations connect to the basement floors of sufficiently large or important buildings and public parks and squares through a network of underground walkways.Ā
The presence of long-term leases in the capsule hotels spread sporadically around the basement of buildings between the stations mean that it could actually support a permanent nontransient population, and the presence of stores and all-day train operations mean that people who choose to live in the Catacombs rarely have to venture upwards except to work.
A few of the Catacombsā underground metro lines operate 24 hours a day and require strict management. Should more than one train malfunction in the middle of service, the entire city can grind to a standstill.
This system is so large and complex that officially counts as a city district, the second-largest in terms of area yet having the smallest permanent population at around 90,000. This underground district is as diverse as the surface city districts it serves, with many ethnic enclaves often corresponding to their counterparts topside.
This undercity has played host to a (rather literal) underground counterculture that choose to live in capsule hotels in a blatant rejection of the mainstream that travels Catacombs but live topside.
Permanent residents of the Catacombs, whether they work topside or in the Catacombs themselves, have been at risk of poor physical and mental health due to the lack of sunlight, which not only messes up circadian rhythms but also causes psychological distress and promotes Vitamin D deficiency. Recently, the Catacombsā city councilors ruled in favor of adding full spectrum lighbulbs in all public paths and encourage their adoption in many of the 24-hour establishments in the district. The lights in the complex rotate from full spectrum in the daytime to warm fluorescents between sunrise and sunset, and a bright blue at night.Ā The former two simulate the day-night cycles to avoid disrupting commutersā circadian rhythms, whereas the latter is meant to combat crime.
In some places, especially around underground concourses where multiple underground paths meet or in open areas emptying to larger stations or buildings, underground garden spaces, mimicking topside parks. At least one building, #10 Smith Park Center, has the Catacombs access open up to an enclosed yet open-air sunken garden within the complexās podium.
Tropetron was the shining gem in the night sky. In many cultures, the planetās moon reminded them of the legendary Luna, the moon of the near mythic homeland of the cultures that preceeded the Levelers. Tropetron was slightly bigger, though, and its tidal forces have a much more profound effect on the planetās biota and the people who live there.
Its moniker, the sparkling moon, referred to the faint yet noticable band of scintillating light in what would be its new moon phase. Rather than disappearing from the night sky, the moon becomes a coruscating jewelled ring every month.
The Mapotherians (and recently, other scholars) have attributed the coruscating band to a human settlement present in the moon. The moon figures highly in Mapotherian lore as the waystation from which the ancestral peoples first settled the planet. The moon is believed to be populated, though attempts to contact the population have all been in vain.
The simultaneous discovery of methane pockets and the arrival of methane synthesis from biomass digesters harrowed the age of electricity and the end of the age of steam.
The Bufferians were quick to realize that most of the relic technologies ran on electricity, once known only to the Mapotherians in Meridian, and reverse-engineered much of it for most of the last Steam Wars. Bufferia was thus one of the earliest nations to use electric power, fortunate as it weas to be around a finite source of naturally occuring methane and uranium.
The electric nation received a substantial boost in economic power after the switch to electricity, but it was not to last. This economic and technological boom (later revealed to be an unsustainable bubble) came at a tremendous ecological cost; the amount of wood and natural gas burned by the Bufferian power plants to fuel their need for electricity to power their military-industrial complex led to widespread environmental ruin on an unmatched scale.
Dotted as it is by a multitude of power plants and gas rigs, Bufferia's countryside is dominated by a choking, polluted industrial wasteland. And nowhere is this more apparent than in the skies surrounding the country. The skies around the country are so heavily polluted that the smog casts a grayish teal tinge over most of the major population centers. At midday, urban areas seems desaturated owing to the constant overcast appearance created by the plumes of smoke.
Come dawn, dusk, and twilight, these same urban areas became awash with hues of amber, vermillion, navy, or teal. These colors ironically, together with their relatively homogenous racial makeup of light skinned Bufferians and Caravaners, tie in to the country's flag (a tricolor of orange, white, and blue).
Entertainment varies considerably among the nations, though standards seem to be universally popular worldwide.
Board games are a popular diversion and chess remains as widespread at the present as it was in pre-Leveler days. Concordian chess, however, become more complex as the success of capturing is decided by the luck of a draw.
This has its origins in living chess games, which in the name of excitement and spectacle had rules modified to resemble sparring matches. The added complexity (coupled with the costumed spectacle of living chess games) proved to be popular among the Concordian elite and masses alike.
Comedy programming is a staple in the United Federation, and most brands of comedy translate well across the culturally diverse cantons of the Federation. The sole exception is South Jejima. South Jiman comedies involve finding humor in the misfortune of others; a common South Jiman plot involves a protagonist being taking advantaged of, only to reverse fortunes briefly, and then lose everything, leaving them and their tormentors worse off than they were before. Outside South Jejima, these comedies are reworked into dramas, with endings altered to make it more palatable and the characters sympathetic.
South Jiman comedians often find themselves perplexed at the drama awards they and the localization teams receive for what was ostensibly a comedy work.
Shinar is known for its extensive (and literal) underground clubbing scene. Subway terminals, largely the domain of the lower classes, are lined with underground clubs. The clubs have given entire districts of the Shinarian capital Babel a distinctive nighttime glow far removed from the art deco aesthetics of the financial centers.
The Shinarian elite themselves are not averse to partying, though no self-respecting aristocrat would find themselves at an underground rave in the lower floors. The genteel oligarchy prefer having their gatherings within view of the sky, often holding their heavily formalized events at penthouse venues and rooftop decks across the many luxury apartments of the financial district.
While Meridian has relied heavily on tactical supremacy through cartography and engineering, theyāve been no strangers to unleashing weapons of a truly alien design.
The first recorded instance of this weapon was during the advent of the Third Steam War. A weapon aboard the destroyer Hypathia was fired upon the coastal estate of the King of Concord, obliterating the entire complex and killing every one in sight. In the ensuing confusion, the Hypathia was sunk, carrying the secrets of its weapon to a watery grave.
An installation of these devices was later revealed to have been constructed around the capital of Shinar, Babel. Unleashed at the dawn of the Shinarian revolution, it obliterated an entire flotilla of Meridian ships, securing the nationās independence.
The umbrella term used to describe these devices came from their use in the installation made famous by the Shinarian revolution. Officially named Archimedes, the defensive weapons system lined the coast of the City of Babel, the administrative center of the colony. Much of what is known about the machines were derived from the Archimedes, inferred from surviving televised footage taken during the event.
Rumors abound of the true nature of these weapons, which are capable of truly devastating yet precise attacks at targets: what is known is that they are capable of firing beams of immense destructive force without leaving so much as radiation in its wake, and that they are typically mounted weapons requiring complex machinery to properly aim,.
The effects of these machines are devastating, with observers reporting a blinding and deafening sound that could be heard for miles. Initial assumptions of the devices presumed that they were nuclear, though this hypothesis was later discredited when several observations showed no lingering radiation.
Neither Meridian nor the Republic of Shinar has declassified any of the data surrounding these machines. Speculation assumes that they may have been relic technology, likely from the Leveler era, appropriated and reverse-engineered by the Meridian industrial-military complex.
Meridianās military tradition revolves around using cartography to gain an upper hand.Ā Efficiency had been the name of the game for the Meridian military, and urban planning and engineering had been a powerful tool in the Meridian arsenal. Engineers, logisticians, and surveyors, are critical elements of the Meridian powerhouse and are often at the sides of great generals and other strategists.
Often, Meridian strategists utilizes the lay of the land to their advantage, relying on or augmenting natural barriers to protect themselves, while simultaneously using misdirection and obstacles to lead enemies to an area where they are tactically disadvantaged.
Out of the battlefield, Meridian cartographers and engineers design military installations to be difficult to directly attack. Optical illusions are a specialty of Meridian planners, relying on finding or creating a configuration of terrain that obscures them from opponents without affecting their ability to shoot back.
This attention to cartographic defenses also extends to urban planning. Many Meridian cities are planned in such a way as to act as virtual fortresses, boasting of wide streets, architecturally similar buildings, and open spaces. This has the overall effect of making them difficult to barricade while facilitatin the movement of troops during times of unrest. This system was considered the ultimate safeguard against urban uprisings and revolutions.
Heavily controlled transport systems also work as a means of social control while making conspiracies from the bottom incredibly difficult. Check points between city districts ensure that plebeian workers to the city only go where they are supposed to go.
Meridian politics have also used cartography in a profoundly different manner. Authoritarian, traditionalist factions of Meridian have had trouble with more idealistic, often younger peers. The advent of colonialism (and the repeated uprisings that followed) proved to be fortuitous to hardline members of the House of Lords, who saw the nativesā anger at the Meridian as a useful tool to dispose of unwanted opposition. Besides shipping off boatloads of exiles (mostly impoverished individuals and pro-democracy activists) toĀ āsettle the frontier,ā they often appointed troublesome aristocrats to positions in the colony.
WB Wednesday ;0 -- How do they manufacture Mapotherian healing gauntlets if the manufacturing process is poorly understood? Is there an appreciable difference between a manufactured set of gauntlets and an original set (if those exist)?
The production process is poorly understood largey by the laypersons. The Mapotherian Church keep the production process largely classified, with what little being declassified coming off as technobabble. Moreover, until recently, the Mapotherians were working with an incomplete production chain (they could make the gauntlets, but not the machines used to make the gauntlets and their parts) and relied on technology they saved or salvaged and maintained with parts they drew from archeological digs.
Only recently had much of the production chain been redeveloped, and items like their long-lasting batteries havenāt even been rediscovered (the batteries last an improbably long time, though).Ā
The key difference between Mapotherian gauntlets and their predecessors is aesthetics. Mapotherian gauntlets are ornate and resemble religious vestments, whereas the original gauntlets are unornamented and resemble medical apparatuses. Earlier Mapotherian gauntlet designs run on salvaged batteries (and are treated as heirlooms by Mapotherian priestly clans), whereas modern ones rely on less-reliable modern batteries that need to be constantly charged and have the option to run on alternating current.
Worldbuilding Wednesday! What kind of pets do the people of the Federation own?
On the whole, they typically own the standard collection of domestic pets: cats, dogs, small birds, fish, small mammals, with a sizeable community of people interested in exotics likeĀ reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
Wealthier individuals and rural farming communities tend to have larger animals, with albino livestock being key status symbols for wealthy landowners.
The aristocracy of the Meridian Empire are known to dress opulently in close-fitting, intricately decorated garments. Formal occasions often have men wear well-tailored suits with epaulets and the regalia of their posts and families, while women wear fur coats and capes alongside elegant gowns and dresses.
Elaborate ornamented hats are a marker of position in the Meridian government; different ranks bear differing styles of ornamentation.
Regular aristocratic attire consists of coats, waistcoats, and ties for men, and petticoats and elaborate hats for women. Lower class and younger individuals prefer even more informal clothing, preferring pullover turtleneck shirts, oxford shirts, and hooded sweatshirts. Kravats are a common accessory worn by both men and women.
Facial hair had been in vogue with the population decades ago but has since fallen out of style with younger generations.
There are few events that have left an impact on the world than the Fourth Steam War. Taking place on the advent of widespread use of electric power in the planet, this conflict had brought to the fold a magnificent menagerie of machinery never before seen by the planetās people and the devastating effects this had on the people and the political landscape they were dependent on.
Devastating as it was, the Fourth Steam War was just the last in a long line of conflict called the āSteam Wars.ā Throughout the Steam Era, the nations had been undergoing an industrial revolution, rediscovering the power of the steam engine as well as improving vastly upon waterwheel technology. The first of these wars has emerged as part of the petty squabble between the most powerful northern nations, Meridian and Concord, as their growing industrial economies begins to tax the resources of their own already-vast continents, spurring the need to control even more territories.
The First Steam War was a territorial spat between Concord and the southerly nation Pascal, which led to the Pascaleseās defeat and the seizing of their most northern territories to Concord. Meridian was allied to Pascal, but has only joined to grab territory from their enemy in the form of the ward of Booker, which eventually became the founding territory of Meridianās Concord Colony. An uprising on the Jima settlements in the area known as āThe Shiresā was quashed.
The Second Steam War involved the Concord and Meridian Empires separately waging petty skirmishes against the southern nations, with Meridian ostensibly ādefendingā its southern ally Pascal while trying to grab territory in the south. Concord was more successful in this endeavor as it had made moves for colonialism first, while Meridian was warded off by an alliance composed of the Insular League, the Empire of Poldevia, and the interior republics of Soren, Stephensonia, Theslochapekia, and Rockford. This alliance, which would become the United Federation, was to become a formidable enemy of Meridian in the decades to come.
In the south, the nations of the United Federation, having hosted the Pascalese Emir since the civil war that had divided his alarmingly bipartisan nation into three states, decide to declare an intervention. This threatened to bring them into war with the Royal Concord, who still controlled the Northwest of the country.
The Third Steam War took place between Meridian and Concord not long after, with Concord unsuccessfully invading Concord Colony in an attempt to reclaim Booker Ward. It was forced to retreat and abandon the colony as internal unrest began to engulf its wide but grossly mismanaged Empire. While its navy was to quell rebellion in the dissatisfied maritime colonies (known as the province of New Concord), five of the seven mainland provinces seceded from the Kingdom, creating a violent civil war now known as the Bufferian Revolution.
The Fourth Steam War involved both the native Concord states (the Kingdom and Bufferia) acting against the Meridian Empireās occupation of the secessionist territory of Campbell, which has seceded during the third war but has voted against joining Bufferia. Republican unionist sentiment had encouraged the Bufferians to betray their Royalist allies, resulting in a deadlock that had essentially left Meridian the undisputed ruler of Campbell, which was integrated with Booker into the much larger present Concord colony.
Unrest in the colony, however, had made a high turnover rate for Imperial Viceroys, which made the otherwise valuable territory more expensive than the Merids had previously thought.
By the end of the war, the United Federation had gone from a mere trade and defense alliance (albeit with a unified diplomatic policy) into a full-pledged Sovereign State. The era of the detente had begun.
The United Federation is a melting pot of different cultures. Material Federationite culture, however, is primarily dominated by Sorenian cultural elements. Sorenian culture represents one of the most recognizable manifestations of Federation culture, given that the Federation capital Galt, the worldās largest city, is located within a Sorenian region.
Indeed, the stereotypical āFederation national costumeā is usually interpreted as primarily Sorenian, with obvious references to the other cultures shoehorned in (i.e. the kilts and spiked hats of the Jimans, the overcoats of the Poldevians, and the bolo ties of the Pascalese, among others).
Sorenian clothing puts high priority on wearing plaid, using thick cloth with plaid patterns frequently in many of their clothes, either as the primary ornamental pattern or as an internal lining. Ā This is attributed to the rather cold weather attributed to the temperate islands of Amercy and its proximity to the planetās frigid south pole. Ā
One famous article of Sorenian clothing is the jacket-kilt, a tan or neutral-colored jacket lined on the inside with a plaid patterned cloth, which is reversed during summer months and tied to the waists.
Neckwear is common among modern Royal Concordians. Considered a comfortable necessity in sandy or northerly regions and a patriotic fashion statement elsewhere, the keffiyeh, the hijab, and the scarf are ubiquitous aspects of Royal Concord culture. Royal Concordians tend to wear light, loose clothes like T-shirts, preferring to layer their clothes when they are in colder weather. Hooded button-down sweatshirts are common in northern areas near Campbellian territory.
The stereotypical Madrasani hat is the fez. While commoners are known to wear fezzes of any color, the familiar red fez embedded in popular consciousness is actually an official government uniform and is worn only by members of parliament. Members of the religious council are encouraged to wear their faithās prescribed clothing.
Fez-shaped hats are common elsewhere in the continent as a testament to the influence of Kingdom in its apogee.
Mapotherian technology incorporates a broad array of functional relics drawn from extensive archaeological digs around Leveler sites throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The Mapotherian Church leads the world in the knowledge and understanding of Leveler artifacts and up until relatively recently were the only scholarly organization in the world capable of replicating Leveler technology to a limited degree. Of these, Mapotherian medicine remains the only form of Leveler technology in any degree of continuous production today.
Mapotherian medical technology continues to leave the rest of the medical establishment in the dust, with their technology guaranteeing the Meridian aristocrat nearly a century or more of life and the average churchgoer a life devoid of invasive surgery.
The most iconic of these are the healing gauntlets. Worn by inquisitors and clerics alike, these gauntlets are the most familiar aspect of Mapotherian medicine. Healing gauntlets are an all-in-one tool used for basic first aid for physical injuries and the treatment of minor, early-stage illnesses.
Manufactured through a poorly understood process, these gauntlets can diagnose illnesses, mend broken bones, reduce muscular inflammation, remedy internal bleeding, and even facilitate the treatment of minor infections and early-stage cancers.
The use of these glovelike apparatuses is straightforward. Mapotherian clergy calibrate these machines during use, first setting it to diagnose, followed by careful reprogramming to facilitate healing. The gauntlets are configured through careful hand and wrist movements (mastered through years of training), and they act upon tactile contact with the patientās skin.
Although ascribed with near magic powers by observers, Mapotherian clergy do not deny the temporal and scientific origins of the gauntlets and treat them as medical apparatuses. Mapotherian Clerics who wield gauntlets are classed as general medical practitioners in all countries and are subject to the same laws governing non-Mapotherian medical doctors.
Tumblinā TorusĀ® Presents the Flavors of the World
For the past 30 years, the Tumblinā TorusĀ® Doughnut Company has been an icon for breakfast and snacks on the go. The Federationās leading fast food franchise with over 30,000 locations worldwide, Tumblinā Torus Ā® now releases its limited-time menu of international-themed dishes under its Flavors of the World brand.Ā
A few of these dishes are, in fact, menu items served in Tumblinā TorusĀ® franchises overseas, brought to the Federation for the first time. They would be made available all at once for a limited time (much like the āFlavors of the Federationā promo menu, released annually encompassing the days between Foundation Day and Democracy Day) and brought back periodically corresponding to the calendar dates of the cultural holidays of each nation.
Bufferian Spade Scramble
A relic from the Steam Wars and reflective of the countryās martial endeavors, spade cuisine has become a recognizable element of Bufferian culture. Everyone from the youngest members of the Youth Corps to Veteran Sentinels are expected not only to know how to cook with the spade but also make the resulting dish, usually egg-based, taste divine.
Spade scramble is a simple, omelet-like dish, made in a cleaned out, heated spade. Originally made and garnished with whatever edible items soldiers could acquire, this modern take on Bufferiaās classic takes some of the time-tested favorites of Bufferian veterans and brings them together in one delicious mix. This dish is extremely popular in the 6 Bufferian branches and has received the seal of approval from the current chancellor, Winston Volgin. For our Bufferian promo, we offer the scramble served in an actual spade head for dine-in customers.
The Spade Scramble Bagelwich is also an option for those who prefer their scrambles on-the-go.
Ā Concordian Kaffeeklatsch
Coffee is the Kingdom of Concordās favorite pastime, and the Tumblinā TorusĀ® franchises in the region has a diverse array of coffee offerings, many of which are unique to the country. In celebration of the culture of Concord, the most popular coffee items in the Royal Concordian market will be available to Federation customers for a limited time, made with our trademark extra-strength blend hitherto only available for Concordian customers. Can your taste buds take the strength of mild Concordian coffee? You be the judge!
To make this a full Kaffeeklatsch, customers can also purchase a broad array of Royal Concordian-inspired foodstuffs, including marzipan fruit doughnuts and these delectable savories added to our bagelwich line: shawarma beef and pastrami.
Ā Meridian Dessert Delights
When it comes to pomp and opulence, there are few nations who do it better than the Meridian Empire. This eclectic kingdomās aristocrats have zealously guarded the secrets of their delectable desserts, an mix of delightful flavors whose presentation is as much a feast to the eye as it is to the tongue.
Naturally, we had to step up our game when we first opened our branch at Meridianās financial capital Hanlon. There, our doughnut selection took flavor cues from some of the Meridian Empireās famous dessertsācustard tortes, chocolate and peach cakes, coffee-flavored sticky buns, and much moreāand put them in a package that everyone can enjoy. They look too beautiful to eat, and theyāre exactly as delicious as they look.
We took some of the bestsellers in our branchācustard glaze, chocolate and peach surprise, and coffee caramel drizzleāand brought them down south. Indeed, these were popular enough to be available at our branches at Meridian communities year-round!
Can we democratize the Meridian Empire through doughnuts? Thatās for history to decide.
Ā Shinar Squares
Shinarian efficiency and rectilinear precision take the center stage. Peckish for square-anything? Our most popular doughnuts in the Shinarian market (including the Shinarian-exclusive apple cream, green gelatin, and lamington flavors) are now available for a limited time exactly how the Shinarians like them: as cubes!
Cube-shaped food, including square doughnuts and cube doughnut holes, is a marvel of efficiency, one that became popular in Shinar during post-revolutionary times. Shinarian branches offer toroidal and polyhedral doughnuts and bagels, and the polys remain as popular as ever.
And if you want a soup to go with your savories? We have just the thing: lobster bisque, a Shinarian favorite.
Ā Patriot Palate
Of course, we canāt forget the old red, white, and blue! And you donāt have to wait for Foundation Day to get them, too. During the Flavors of the World month, weāre bringing back Federation favorites as well. Included are our signature pulled charcoal-roasted pork bagelwich, Lobster Thermidor bagelwich, and cod fillet bagelwich, best enjoyed with our chocolate malt milkshake (donāt have to wait all year for that one) and hearty shepherd stew.
Weāre also known for having a different chicken sandwich recipe for each canton. Working cross-country and feeling homesick? For limited time, you can order your chicken bagelwich made according to a specific cantonal recipe.
