Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine of Sweden hosted little Enna from Skåne, age 7, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on September 12, 2016. Enna has a disease that makes life extra tough. This visit was made possible through the Min Stora Dag foundation (My Big Day), which helps make dreams come true for children and young people with serious illnesses. It was Enna’s wish to meet the Queen and Princess Madeleine.

Hi! I was wondering if Madeleine and Chris have their own foundation? Like Carl-Philip and Sofia and Victoria and Daniel.

Hello! No Princess Madeleine & Chris don’t have their own foundation. Chris turned down his title and official duties as he would have had as a Prince/Duke. He’s not an “official” member of the Swedish Royal family. Therefore it would be rather odd if they had their own foundation as Chris decided to decline his public role. Princess Madeleine doesn’t have a foundation of her own. However she is very much engaged in the World Childhood Foundation and she is also patron of many other organisations like Min Stora Dag.

All cousins will attend at Prince Alexander’s christening. But it depends how they’ll feel. It will be fun.

Suddenly Carl Philip started to cry. He was in the King's arms. No one understood why. There was only one person who did and it was Victoria. She was still little at the time, but she jumped up from her little chair, rushed forward and lifted a small pillow that had fallen down.

Princess Lilian had to wait for over 30 years to marry Prince Bertil because the King didn’t approve of their relationship.

Crown Princess Victoria married her boyfriend of 8 years Prince Daniel (her former personal trainer) after waiting for a long time before they got permission. 

Princess Madeleine broke off her first engagement after her fiancé cheated on her. In 2013 she finally found her happiness when she married the love of her life Christopher Paul O’Neill.

Despite all the controverse around his girlfriend’s past, Prince Carl Philip married his love Sofia Kristina Hellqvist in a beautiful ceremony.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended the Swedish Local Heritage Federation (SHF) 100th anniversary at the Skansen Museum on 27 August 2016 in Stockholm. The Swedish Local Heritage Federation (SHF) was founded in 1916.and joined Europa Nostra’s network of Member Organisations in February 2015.

All children deserve to believe in their own worth

We are proud to dedicate this blog to draw attention to bullying and all those affected by bullying. Mainly we will focus on bullying and living with dyslexia, topics that are close to us both. The blog will feature guest bloggers, and articles that we think are important. Warm welcome to our Foundation!

Subjecting a person to bullying is horrible. Exposing a child to bullying is terrible.Words hurt not only for the moment and kind of do not only hurt for a moment.Bullying gives wounds that for many lasts a lifetime. We can not understand what some people go or have gone through, but we have both experienced bullying. It has given us an understanding, and an incentive to work with the issues and a willingness to help others. The feeling is the same no matter who you are and as new parents we feel it is more important than ever for us.

Every day, young kids around Sweden go through worse things than we have experienced. Digs, beaten and exclusion becomes in time a backpack that can crack the strong back anytime. Instead of living and playing happily, children are relegated to the corner of the schoolyard, don’t believe in themselves and without trust in society or the adults around them.

It should not be so, and it's not good enough just to shout that "someone" had to do something. The responsibility is ours together, every day, for every child. It is our duty as adults to talk to our children, but also to be good examples.

Therefore, we are starting the Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia Foundation, in order to strengthen the good conversation, strengthening the positive role models and to enhance all children, both those who are bullied, those who bully and those who stand passively on the sidelines. The good society is built on good citizens. And the good citizens are coming from strong self-esteem and belief in their own worth. No child deserves less than that.
