I am going to take a deep breath and just remind you:
Writing is messy, even for the best authors. It's supposed to feel a little uncomfortable, exhilarating, freeing, natural, and terrifying.
It's supposed to inspire you and feel like a too-heavy backpack.
Sometimes, you're going to love being a writer and sometimes, you'll feel so disconnected, you'll wonder if you were ever a writer to begin with.
Give yourself room to make mistakes and hate your work and return to it with renewed confidence that yes, you will get 1% better next time.
It's what we're all going through. Let's speed up the growing process a little by accepting the entirety of it.
1D Christmas Fest 2023 Sign-Up and Prompts
Welcome back! This is now the 5th(!!!) year of the 1D Christmas Fest, and I'm delighted it's back for another year. As before, I hope to have a fic a day from December 1st all the way up to the big day itself, so fingers crossed lots of you will want to sign up and join in.
Sign Ups: Sign ups were opened at October 28th at 12pm BST. There are only a couple of rules to follow:
You must be over 18 at the time of sign up
Your fic must include at least one member of One Direction in your main pairing
Your fic must have a festive theme!
Fics are due on December but we can offer some flexibility in that once the schedule starts to fill up. Publication dates will be assigned in order of fics received into the collection.

Secondly... prompts. At the link below, you will find all of the prompts that have been submitted in previous years that have not been used. You are free to claim one of these or use your own prompt. Newer prompts will be added to the top of the doc as they come in. You can keep submitting prompts throughout November.

Writer Sign-Ups are now open!
Writer Sign-Ups will remain open from October 2nd to October 30th.
✩ You have to be 18 years old or over to write for this fest.
✩ Harry must be an omega in your fic. But all pairings, even non-traditional A/B/O, are welcome.
✩ Minimum word count is 4,000 and there is no maximum.
✩ This fest is not anonymous, which means two things: 1. you are allowed to post snippets or teasers of your work (tag us!), and 2. your fic has to be posted from a public AO3 account.
✩ Fics need to be completed when added to the AO3 collection. Moreover, they should be appropriately tagged, as we will not be moderating content.
Writers, you can choose to sign up with your own prompt or pick your favourites from our submitted prompts.
