The sun had long since set, and the warm lights glowing from the village houses blended into the quiet of the night. Near the edge of the forest, at the end of a dirt path, E-Wizard was kneeling in the middle of the arena, trying to figure out what was wrong with Sparky, which had malfunctioned during the battle.
The weak sparks coming from his hands were unstable; his magic felt as if it had lost its rhythm.
E-Wizard clenched his hands, erratic sparks jumping between his fingers.
“T-this ffluctuation isn’t n-n-normal…” he muttered.
“I-It’s like it’s clashing with anotherr k-kind of m-magic.”
Electro Spirit bounced in the air, letting out a short bzzzt.
“D-do yyou feel it too?” he asked. “Is tthere… a strongg but strange e-e-energy n-nearby?”
The small spirit froze for a moment. Its blue glow flickered. Then it tilted slightly, as if listening.
Suddenly, it jumped excitedly.
But Electro Spirit had already turned and dashed toward the forest. Its light flickered between the trees, as if something was calling it.
Electro Wizard let out a sigh.
“G-g-great… o-of course you wouldn’t l-leave me a-alone.”
He quickly stood up and ran after it.
Branches scratched his face, dry leaves crunching beneath his boots. As he went deeper, the forest grew quieter and quieter… until he heard it.
He slowed his steps. His heart pounded so loudly it felt like it echoed beneath his armor. Moonlight filtered through the trees, illuminating a small, oddly charming cabin-like house. The air was thick with magic—familiar, yet unsettling.
Just as he decided to turn back—
“Would you like some tea~?”
The voice was soft. Unexpectedly gentle.
E-Wizard startled and turned around. A thin line of blood ran down his forehead—the mark of an overloaded spark.
Every bat around the cabin opened its eyes.
All of them were staring at him.
Night Witch’s smile faltered for a brief second. Her gaze sharpened; the bats’ sudden attention was no coincidence. Even if he didn’t want to, E-Wizard realized this wasn’t an invitation…
He approached her with heavy steps. Night Witch’s smile returned, as if the tension from a moment ago had never existed.
She gestured toward the table in the garden.
E-Wiz sat down, though his mind was still in the forest—on Electro Spirit.
After a while, Night Witch returned with a teapot and a tray holding two cups. Steam rose as she poured the tea, dispersing into the moonlight. She sat across from him and took a sip.
When the moonlight touched her face, Electro Wizard froze without realizing it.
The night made her even more beautiful. Quiet, mysterious—not frightening, but… enchanting.
He took a sip of his tea as well.
“What are you doing out here at this hour?” Night Witch asked.
“W-w-well… I-I’m l-looking f-for a f-friend.”
Night Witch smiled and pointed toward the denser part of the trees.
“I saw a small blue thing run that way… It was very fast.”
Electro Wizard moved as if to stand up.
“I-I n-need t-to f-find it!”
But Night Witch reached out and gently held his wrist.
“You haven’t finished your tea yet…”
The calmness in her voice pinned him in place. As if trying to start a conversation, she added:
“That little thing… looked a lot like you.”
E-Wiz didn’t reply. He drank the rest of his tea quickly—too quickly. The rush didn’t seem to please Night Witch.
She took his empty cup and examined it carefully. Not coffee grounds—tea. Her sharp eyes traced the marks inside the cup.
“Do you feel lonely?” she asked suddenly.
Electro Wizard didn’t know how to respond. He simply watched her.
Night Witch smiled again and gave a subtle signal to her bats. Wings fluttered as they disappeared into the depths of the forest.
A short while later, they returned.
Night Witch opened her hand.
What the bats placed there was blue and glowing.
“If that’s what you want,” Night Witch said softly, “take it.”
Electro Wizard’s face lit up.
“Th-th-thank you s-so m-much!!”
He jumped up and hugged Electro Spirit tightly. The little being trembled with excitement.
Night Witch kept smiling.
This time… she didn’t stop him.
As Electro Wizard left the forest, he glanced back.
The cabin. The bats. The moonlight.
All the way back, only one thought stayed with him:
Some nights aren’t meant just to get lost…

Since I couldn't organize my ideas myself, I enlisted the help of AI to organize them(Actually, I have ADHD uh sorry😔).I promised this a long time ago, but I guess I'm late. I struggled a bit with the translation. I'm not sure if I'll write any more fanfiction; there are so many, but I think you'll find them dull!(I wrote 1-2 year ago) So instead of sharing them, I might prefer them to remain as sweet fairy tales in my silly world...
