"well, well. look what the cat dragged in." katherine rolled her eyes at the sight of the other. she had rather hoped this place would lead to a life without annoying doppelgangers. sure, a part of her wished the salvatores would appear so she could bug them but elena? yeah, she wasn't a face she wanted to see. "what are you doing here?" she all but leered at her. "sorry to break it to you but your little guard dogs aren't here to look after you." she admitted with a smirk.
Elena crossed her arms, head tilting just slightly, that familiar blend of exasperation and forced patience creeping into her expression. “Nice to see you too, Katherine. Still confusing bitterness for charm, I see.” Her tone was steady, but there was an edge under it, years of history pressing like a bruise. She took a slow step forward, eyes locked on the older doppelgänger. “I don’t need anyone to look after me. Haven’t in a long time. But maybe you do. Because if you think I’m still the scared little girl you used to toy with, then you’re more out of touch than I thought.” A beat passed. Then a smile, sweet, but just sharp enough to cut. “Now why don’t you tell me what you’re doing here? Or let me guess, you ran out of people to manipulate and figured you’d try your luck with me again?”
