Stefan was the healthy choice. Damon not.

Wow, I´m relatively new to watching Vampire Diaries but I simply cannot watch this any longer. That script would never land in today's world. I learned that Elena and Damon is the endgame, so I stopped watching because wtf. It's all about everyone enabling a sociopath, victimised selfish narcissistic behaviour and a girl classically believes he can change. NO - No way in my book will I ever go down this narrative that I´m enabling a toxic guy. Damon kills Stefans best friend and many other innocent people and then emotionally abuses Elena and everyone else, and pushes Stefan over the edge by seducing him with human blood - knowing very well Stefan is basically a recovering addict. Would you push alcohol to a recovering alcohol addict? Meanwhile you have emotionally mature, available boyfriend like Stefan. But oh no, let's use the age old trope of everyone enabling a toxic narcissist like Damon - because a girl needs to rescue a guy from himself? Hell nah. It's so disempowering I will not continue watching. And what message does that send to girls? Naahhh. Know your worth and go for mature, reliable, emotionally intelligent guys who do the work. Gahhh I couldn't stand Damon and hated how everyone was enabling him, while he kills and tortures and betrays everyone around him, but when someone betrays him, his ohhh so victimised. Gahhhhh can't watch this bull! Stefan all the way!

so my life been a lot lately so I haven’t had time to ask questions abt things… bc ya girl…gifted kid trauma I got questions about it all!

Anyway! I saw an Elena mutual of mine (and I wish I screenshotted her comment for full thoughts) felt like Beklena could’ve been a strong longterm friendship for them both but the plot had decided Elena to reject Rebekah anyway because if Rebekah became Elena’s new bestfriend that left very little room for Caroline’s importance with Elena and truthfully I never saw it that way at first but I get what they meant. I just wanted to see someone else’s thoughts there.
