“Why would I be into pilots?” It wasn’t just that he’d take a road trip over a flight any day, but it was totally also a line, the way he bumped his arm against her shoulder, pointing out, “You only get to see ‘em at the end. How would I make it if I couldn’t see your pretty smile?” And yet, no matter how cheesy the words or the playful expression on his face, he meant it sincerely. There were a lot of folks who put on their kindness for the sake of their job, but it was never hard to see that Essie was a good person just because.
At the front of the line, Rhys made an order for two drinks, then tilted his head. “I’m gonna leave the pastry picks to you. I like bread just fine, but I think I gotta fall back on your expertise.” After, he led them over to a high table nearby, facing the cobblestone street, and pulled out one of the stools for Essie to slide onto. “I gotta say, that’s one of my favorite things about my job too.” Freelance photography was not for the easily-discouraged, but it had always given him plenty of opportunity. “It’s kinda cool having to adapt to a different place, and to trade ideas with clients, ‘cause everyone’s got a different idea. Where’s one place you’ve been that you wanna go back to?”
"Well you never know, sometimes people find the allure of a mystery exciting," she said with a joke. Her smile was warm as she listened to him though. He was very easy to talk to, and be comfortable around. She flashed her smile a little wider as she looked up at him. She always liked hearing that her smile was pretty, and coming from such an attractive man? Who wouldn't.
Essie looked up at him as he ordered the drinks and then asked her to pick the pastries. "Well if you are insisting, I think I can made a solid choice." She joked before getting a small baguette and an almond croissant. "That way we have the option of sweet or savory." She smiled at him as she waiting for their treats and drinks. She took the croissant with a bit of an excited wiggle, the clerk handed the baguette to Rhys before handing them their drinks. "Sounds like we are both pretty lucky, to find jobs that allow us to do this." She nodded as she turned nodding towards a bench nearby that had become free. "Mmm, probably Japan, what about you?" @confusionism
Wyatt found himself being consumed by her. He was consumed by how she smelt and how she felt against him. This was the best feeling in the world and certainly very much intoxicating. He was now lost in her and there simply was no escape from her. And the truth was Wyatt didn't want to escape. He found himself realising that no matter what he simply would never be able to forget her. He wanted and needed to be with her at all times. His heart was ablaze by her simply looking at him. Hearing her next words he watched her curiously eager to know what her secret would be. When he heard her words he simply couldn't help but laugh at her for a moment before responding to her again. "Well you would be glad to know that the feeling is mutual. " He said to her before his eyes fell on her lips which were the most tempting thing in the world to him currently.
There was always something lovely about the feel of someone's eye on you. But Essie was certain that this sensation in her stomach was from more than just that. It was him, his warmth, his touch. His breath so close to her. She was sure that he was going to become an addiction. It was both exciting, and a little scary. She pressed her body closer to him, as close as she could manage. Her eyes finding his as her lips pulled into a playful smile. "Really?" His eyes moved to her lips and she couldn't help but bit her lower lip in response. Her teeth pulling at the flesh there. "Lucky us I guess," she spoke softly, tilting her chin up to him slightly. "Would you want to give me a kiss?" She asked daringly, wondering if he would allow her even closer. @velvetdesirez

Alma certainly knew how to make a mess. It was a thought that orbited her mind as she considered the aftermath of her encounter with Hunter. He was also in her mind, he was always in her mind, but since their last kiss he was becoming all consuming. So much so that she had really been unable to focus on much else.
Things with her boyfriend were fractured, and she couldn't blame him. She was full of guilt, and he could tell, he could see her distance. How could he not? They were starting to argue all the time. She could feel herself becoming defensive and manipulative. Scared he would know, and she would be left alone. But he wasn't what she wanted. She wanted Hunter, she always would.
But does he want me?
It was all she could focus on. So much so that she had decided to pay him a visit. Her hand shaking as she made her way to his door. Bad idea, awful idea, and still, her hand reached up, knuckles lightly tapping against the wood of the door. @gctawaygirl

open: m / f / nb 21+ muse: Wynonna, 26, she/her, pansexual plot: (supernatural verse) Wynonna is a mermaid, she has come on land for the first time. She was forced to flee her cove because she was going to be forced into an arranged marriage by her parents. She has just some on shore when she meets y/m. She has heard a lot of terrifying stories about landwalkers trying to hunt and steal mermaids scales to sell. But she is hopeful those may just be myths.
Wynonna had never gotten her hand legs. She looked over the skin coated in sand, they were odd and fleshy, but somewhat...pretty. She had seen the landwalkers use them before. For walking, and dancing. They were oddly heavy though, everything was shockingly heavy as she sat and assessed herself. Her long red hair covered her chest she would need to find land clothes, since she doubted kelp would be an appropriate covering for landwalkers.
She heard footsteps approaching, she quickly turned her gaze to the stranger who was approaching. "Hello," she said in her cool melodic voice. She wondered if those stories were true too, could she influence them to help her. She slowly moved to stand, it was an unsteady movement, attempting to understand the function of legs.
She caught herself against against a nearby rock. Taking a breath as she did so, everything was very different here. Even the taste and the sensation of breath was different. "C-could you help me?"

Essie felt her cheeks sting from pulling a warm smile. It was disarming and charming certainly, but anyone who knew her knew it was not her natural one. Still, she had a role to play, and she was always good at putting on a brave face. Her fiancé was no where to be found. She knew he was off somewhere making deals, or perhaps flirting with someone who was not her. She should care more, but did not. She had zoned out till someone beside her had began to make introductions.
"Evening," she recovered, pulling her focus back to the conversation in front of her. Her eyes drifted over them, assessing carefully. "Are you enjoying the your night so far?"

“I’m a romantic, I can’t help myself. Speaking of…” he set Evelyn back down on her feet and went into his left pocket.
“Like I said, I knew you’d get that draft submitted and you’d want to celebrate, so I took the liberty of getting you a little gift.” Out of his pocket he pulled out two tickets to her favorite play.
“Now they were technically were sold out but I managed to pull a string or two and we’ve got box seats to Glass Menagerie.”
"And I am so glad for that," she hums softly as her hand flips along his jaw. The smirk that tugs at the corner of her lips widens as he sets her down. His hands moving to his pocket, she raises a brow curiously.
"You did?" She took a step back watching as he took out the tickets from his pocket. Her jaw dropped, surprised but happily so. "I can't believe this," she shook her head as she reached out, taking the tickets from him.
"This is, incredible," she leaned in and placed a soft kiss against his cheek. "Thank you." @synnshaus
Tessa wanted to know, wanted to know what was on Hannah's mind because clearly it was something. Reaching out, Tessa placed her hands over the other woman's. "It won't make things awkward. I give you my word. Just tell me what is going on." She said softly, giving her hands a gentle squeeze. "I'm here and not going anywhere."
Hannah's stomach continued to flip in on itself as she listened to Tessa. How warm her words were, almost warm as the touch that found her hand. Soft and safe, something she always liked. "I-" she began as she tried to will herself to confess. "I like you. Like not in a friend way." She said, her voice soft and nervous.

The smoldering look he gave her was filled with an intensity that made it clear he was holding back. "One dance; no more, no less.“ He smirked, well aware this was probably a mistake but unable to resist the temptation even though he knew they shouldn’t go there. His hand tightened around her waist, pulling her even closer so that she could feel the steady beat of his heart against her chest. The music wrapped around them, a seductive rhythm that seemed to pulse through their very veins as they moved in sync. His other hand found the small of her back, guiding her with confidence and a touch of possessiveness he couldn’t control. It was almost as if his body had a mind of its own. This was the reason he shouldn’t be dancing with her in the first place but alas here he was… - walking or better said dancing down the memory lane like there was no tomorrow.
It was all too familiar, too tempting. He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear. „if this is really all you want, Pau, then let's not pretend it's enough." With that, he dipped her backward, the move sudden and thrilling. His gaze intensified while he held her in place for a second longer than necessary, before he finally spun her back up to face him, sending her petite frame flush against his muscular body. Their eyes locked, the simmering fire between them now a full-blown inferno, which was reflected in his ardent gaze.
The way his eyes found hers, and that look he was giving, it was simply unfair. He had to know how easily he drew her in. "Just one then, we better make sure it counts." She hummed and nodded her head. His hands moving to her waist, hers slipped up to his shoulder, pressing her chest flush against his. The music, becoming background to the thumping in her chest matching the rhythm of his own. The way he touch her, and she fit against him. It was the sweetest kind of temptation. She looked up at him, trying to stay in the present, remind herself that this was temporary, and that soon enough he would be walking away from her, and on to the next.
He leaned in and her breath caught. It was soft and warm against the shell of her ear. She pressed her lips together trying to keep the composure on her face. She let him take the lead. Dipping her back, she gasped, her body trusting his arm and his hold. Before once again pulling her up. The intensity in his gaze mesmerized and confused her. She couldn't help the way her hand snuck up the back of his neck, her fingertips scratching at the base of his neck. "One dance is never gonna be enough. I want you to myself," she admitted, her gaze steady on his. "But that wont happen, will it?"
"A bar that serves tequila sunrises with bendy straws? Dude, consider me sold already." The excitement in Holly's tone was already evident, just from learning the information about how they serve their drinks. Even if she knew the other was likely just joking about it, it still had her excited to see what the bar was like. And when they walked in, Holly was thoroughly pleased with the atmosphere. "It honestly looks nice. Definitely up to my standards."
Ariella was almost giddy as she watched Holly, the beautiful blonde seemed pleased. That was certainly a success in Ari's mind. She leaned forward watching her carefully. "So, now that you have a drink in hand and a smile on that pretty face, tell me. What's going on in your life? Still the prettiest, busiest, bee?" She moving to lean against the bar.
“Leave it to the most beautiful of us to use their powers for evil.” Mason teased, always somewhat envious of those who could charm their way out of anything.
“….unfortunately I’d be lying if I did.” He winced, hiding his face a bit in his hand as he sat his glass back down. “Okay okay, now before you start judging me, I have good reason: she looked absolutely nothing like her profile picture. At all. Because she was a guy. I got catfished…”
"I think that depends on your perspective. For me it isn't evil, it is just using what I have to get what I want. What is so wrong with that?" She questioned with a small shrug of her shoulders.
Alma watched his expression carefully as he hid his face. She couldn't help but giggle shaking her head. "I can't wait to hear your reason." She teased playfully shaking her head. "Ohhhhhh, well, that is something else. Did you do the google before the date?" She wondered aloud.
