@sweetvillainjude
forever thinking about Cardan absentmindedly running his finger along the curve of Jude’s ear while they were lying side by side under the stars
rereading queen of nothing and nothing beats that moment after jude slays the serpent and cardan returns when she runs straight into his arms while everyone’s watching and he just holds her back, shaking. and later when she asks him what it was like and he says it was like being in the dark, alone, knowing nothing—except jude, because cardan would always know jude. “i knew little else, but i always knew you.”
the way i was gagged for days like okay this man changed SPECIES and his love consumed him regardless???????
even when he was so far away from himself … in a monstrous form where all he could feel was hatred and terror and the desire to destroy … the ONE THING he always knew was jude. only jude.
having big feelings thinking about how both jude and cardan are covered in scars. how intimately they have seen, and know, each other’s.
jude’s realisation that cardan more than anyone would understand the specific, complex hurt she feels, because he too had been broken in the same way, had been hurt in the same way so young.
how they share that formative experience of guarding themselves so strongly from hurt and from being vulnerable (“we have lived in our armor for so long, you and I”) and finding it hard to lower those guards, but despite it they start to heal by having each other. jude and cardan being each others’ “weaknesses”, but in the end actually coming out stronger because of each other.
jurdan core
always screaming at this jurdan parallel
i’m crying not the og jurdan warrior being a door
jurdan core
and this is why jurdan stay on top
this absolutely insane art from the queen herself frostbite studios & she’s illustrating a whole book??? we’ve never been so back
WE ARE GETTING CARDAN'S POV FROM WHEN JUDE WAS IN THE UNDERSEA
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
OH?????
This official artwork….. I’m suffocating they are so beautiful my goodness
The artists for the graphic novel are Díaz Miranda and Laura Moreno Fernández!
nearly fell to my KNEES when i saw this, absolutely insane artwork … the inhuman beauty of cardan, jude’s design, all the beautiful intricacies, goddd it’s so good i can’t believe this?!?!
”crawling back to you”
but it’s jude rushing back to cardan after almost bleeding out, sloppily sewn together, to save his life. it’s jude risking tearing her stitches because she thinks someone is after cardan and she goes to save him despite her thinking he still hates her.
their level of yearning is truly so insane it means so much to me
"cardan is so mean to jude how can she like him??" "cruel prince is a bully romance" no babe, cruel prince is (conventionally attractive) monster romance. cardan isn't human. he's a faerie (and no, that doesn't mean a pretty human with pointy ears and superpowers *cough cough* acotar) like he literally has a tail come on u guys
seriously though, cardan is a faerie prince in a world where fae are rooted in traditional celtic and irish folklore--where they are capricious, mischievous tricksters that generally look down upon humans as less-than due to their weakness, short lifespans, and susceptibility to fae deceptions/bargains. it's who they are, it's in their nature. reading a fae book and being angry that the fae are cruel to humans is the equivalent of reading a vampire romance and being upset when the vampire kills for blood. stop projecting human morals on non-human characters pleaseeeee
I love how holly black took the ‘brooding and mysterious love interest who is a jerk but is secretly in love with the mc” and instead of making a charismatic asshole with a six pack she made a pathetic loser boy who is drunk all the time, can’t fight, and wants nothing to do with the main plot.
like with his nature magic cardan could def hold his own but i really like that he's not good at sword fighting and doesn't want to be and doesn't magically become good at it by the end of the series. i also love that he's not like 300 years old and wise or anything like. he's a confused mopey 18 year old pathetic yearner and it's so much better
this has to be one of the most subtly romantic moments in all of cruel prince change my mind
Jude and Cardan in QoN:
cardan: 🥰😍🥺💕💕💕
when you show up to the hopeless yearning competition but cardan “and yet my heart is buried with you in the strange soil of the mortal world…it was yours before i could admit it, and yours it shall ever remain” greenbriar is already there
