Finally on the other side.

After taking a swim instructor job at a swim club last summer, I was finally promoted to Assistant Swim Coach. Almost a surreal step for me as I'm now coaching kids who have been swimming longer than I have.

As a swim coach, parents "coaching" their kids really grinds my gears.

I swam year round at a swim club that kept their pool temp around 73-76. Go to coach a new swim team at another club and their swimming in a 90 degree pool. I get them into the other pool they have at the club (80F) and have them do practice their. Next day get emails from a chunk of the parents complaining that I made the swim team swim in the cold pool.

New swimmers in need of some motivation? Consider this, I started taking swim lessons at 16, now 4 years later I am still in swim lessons, but this time i'm teaching them.
