i am curious if you have your own design interpretations for the psychonetworks or do they exist as chatnames for you?
i mean- they are chatnames and only exist in text form, however i still find visualising them (in fan-content) entertaining and helpful! unfortunately i suck ASS at designing, especially something as abstract as psychonetworks, so i don't think i'll ever be able to draw them 😔 it is also a little hard to decide what exactly i want to portray since there are so many different options i like
i feel like they work best whenever they are shown as flat, two-dimensional figures with simplified features. i've been thinking about them having some rough, geometrical parts in their designs, almost like they've built themselves from scratch with what little they had. i feel like for me that's the most important part in their designs. them being born identical from the same sourse (P1) and slowly gaining separate consciousness, trying to form themselves into a person, since the main module is forbidden from becoming one. they have little to no opportunities for development and growth, no volume, no sense of depth, yet they still try their best to use all available tools to feel a little more real. they'll forever stay 2D, because having a physical body and an ability to interact with the world is andre's prerogative. however chatters are able to express emotions, while andre simply doesn't have the means to. they're clunky and don't really have a constant form (some of the chatters choose to keep it closer to andre's humanoid appearance, while the others find themselves more comfortable in transforming into different shapes or breaking the rules of anatomy).
the only thing i'm certain about is fear. they're that shaken, distorted, roughly drawn bubble, always changing in size (and emitting horrible mechanical screeching) depending on the levels of danger. something like that
i also really vibe with psychonetworks being made from text symbols, system windows and files (that was @propey's idea, btw, she is a fucking genius), but i have ZERO clue how to integrate that into a design and not make it look like shit lol
tl;dr: they are concepts, parts of a shattered consciousness, each lacking 4/5 pieces of becoming whole, so that's why i feel like their designs should be really abstract and simplistic (while also obviously resembling andre)
however. i feel like developing them as separate, autonomous characters with fully functional and unique designs can lead to people heavily separating them and andre from each other. it is really important to me to remember that they are andre, as andre does not exist outside of them, and every one of their actions and words still represent andre's (even if biased and one-sided) feelings or side of view. that's why i'll probably stick to them existing in text form only lol. definitely not because i can't draw for shit
