@sxuper-blog
I want to stay at the distance where you can take your hand.
"Hey!" Smiles and raises a hand in greeting.
“Dylandy.”
Angelo’s reply to that simple greeting sounds a bit…peeved off, but it wasn’t. Things had been building up considering they were more or less second in command for the Sleeves, and it made you very much feel like you were on a swivel most days.
“It’s good to see you again. I assume things are going well?”
Send my muse a name
They will either share a memory they have of someone with that name, or how they feel about someone they knew with that name!

In a fluid gesture, Garma picked up the tablet and scrolled through a few pages of Angelo’s dossier, highlighting a few details before turning the tablet around to face Angelo.
“Past breaches of protocol, for one. Unauthorized sorties. Excessive and undue use of force on the battlefield. Those will be rectified easily and effectively in time, under my command….”
He folded his arms, straightening himself. “Your history of hostile behavior. That warrants… more imminent addressing.”
It’s hard not to watch Garma’s fingers swipe and scroll through the pages on the tablet, wondering what was inside of it. It wouldn’t take long for the younger soldier to find out though, as he outlined the many, many blemishes upon their record.
Angelo simply listens, not wanting to put themselves deeper into the hole by arguing why they did those acts. And that simply, it was the way that they fought.
Whether it was exuberance defense of their homeland against the aggressor Federation forces, or if it was simply the unleashing of a hellion behind the controls of a mobile suit, who was Angelo to tell?
They can see Garma’s tone and facial expression change, and soon the grilling is shifted towards Angelo’s behavior. Their outbursts, against superior officers, especially towards other soldiers, were, to put it mildly, childish. As much as Angelo didn’t want to admit it, Frontal’s protection of them from most of the bureaucracy and bullshit found within the Zeonic Forces meant that every time Angelo stepped out of line and talked back to a superior, or verbally abused a grunt in turn, it meant that what would usually be a court martial, demotion in rank, and every other penalty in the book was a slap on the wrist for Angelo.
Frontal wasn’t around anymore, and it was obvious that Garma was intent on whipping Angelo into shape. Into an effective Zeonic mobile suit pilot.
“And how do you suggest addressing that?” Angelo replies after a audible silence, their tone more so questioning and legitimately curious then an act of defiance, a realization that what flew before, wouldn’t anymore.

An effective fighter. Garma stifled a chuckle. His past eagerness was definitely mirroring itself in Sauper now, and them running a hand through their hair didn’t help their case.
One can debatably lay claim to a nervous habit, but damn if that isn’t my own, Garma mused. Perhaps I have inspired them more than they care to let on… Fancy that.
“Yes. I’d be remiss not to examine them both, but seeing as I did, I would like to address a few… concerns.”
Garma steepled his fingers, meeting Angelo’s eyes with a gaze just as direct. He hated to dash hopes, but the lieutenant’s record was imperative, and he hoped Angelo understood its gravity…
‘Concerns’. There’s always that sentiment - concerns. About how you fight, how you operate. Every time it comes up, and every time, Angelo can feel themselves fidget a tad in the chair they sat on. Would Garma be the one to put his foot down and say ‘no more’, that Angelo had to follow orders and protocol?
Angelo hoped that wasn’t the case. It’d be neutering their fighting style and what made them so successful in the first place in those first few skirmishes and battles of the One Year War.
None of that matters though as the younger pilot once again looks into the other’s eyes. There’s no denying that Angelo is fearless in most facets, the fact they were going toe to toe with a Zabi family member, albeit the low man on the totem pole, and not flinching or showing any sort of weakness was saying something.
“I would like to know what those concerns are, Lieutenant Garma.” Angelo responds. “If not to better myself, then to know what needs to change to make things successful.”
Angelo was fearless, sure, but they weren’t stupid. She wouldn’t get into an argument with someone of Garma’s power, enough to swat them down like a fly on a wall, even with the help of a mysterious benefactor, in essence, from Full Frontal.

A pleased smile played on Garma’s lips. That was what he liked to hear.
“Excellent. Your enthusiasm will be crucial for your upcoming tenure, Lieutenant. Believe me, we have opportunities tailor-made for your expertise – I have been informed to great lengths about your unique finesse with the Rozen Zulu, thanks to a certain Captain Full Frontal…”
One of the better things about being such a hotshot mobile pilot - which Angelo was, no doubt about it - is that it came with certain cache. Granted, in Angelo’s case it also came from the fact that their handler (for lack of a better term) was such a high up member of the Zeonic forces. All of that was to say that Angelo had their own mobile suit to use, even though in reality it was one of the many discarded prototypes that came in the wake of the Zaku II that had steamrolled through the Federation forces. Though for the Rozen Zulu, it was retrofitted and designed to take advantage of Angelo’s hellion fighting style.
Thinking about it, Garma probably would have gotten the bare minimum on Frontal as a person from the dossiers and the intelligence reports. Even with the youngest member of the Zabi family, some things were on a need to know basis.
When Garma mentions that they had opportunities tailor made for Angelo though, well, of course they’d perk up. Eyebrows shoot skyward, their legs soon uncrossing and crossing over one another again, remaining calm and composed even in the space of someone as high ranking and as important as Garma was. For as much as Angelo was somebody who chaffed at the command structure of Zeon, and for a group that put such a point on said structure - there’s no doubt for someone like Garma, Angelo is very much a sledgehammer that would have it’s uses.
“Yes, I’ve been told that I’m an effective fighter by many parties.” Angelo replies, running a hand through the white hair they possessed, continuing to gaze forward, almost singularly, at the male. “I’m sure that you have read over my dossier and my combat records and have seen how useful I will be to your campaigns in North America.”
The young mobile suit pilot continued to twirl the pen around their finger, a constant and smooth motion as they looked over the documents for their next mission. Of course, Angelo had full confidence that they’d fulfill the tasks given to them. Considering their prowess, and considering it was Frontal giving them the mission - there was no other option. The best or nothing.
With that being said, however, Angelo soon stopped the pen twirling and grasped it in between slim fingers, looking over at the other that was in the room. “So...” the youngster started, cool and collected considering the circumstances. “Any questions?”
@sxuper talking about this post
“Smoking’s bad for you, and a rather disgusting habit to boot.”
Angelo knew it was a disgusting habit. They knew it was bad for them. They knew all that.
But goddamn it, the young pilot had to have a stress release that wasn’t screaming at some poor, hapless grunt. As much as that felt good too.
So, against better judgement, Angelo smoked.
And they looked over at the other with an incredulous gaze, before scoffing and letting the cigarette get crushed against the floor of the small tray that was nearby.
“If I want to have the opinions of other about my habits, then I’ll ask for it. Otherwise...your opinion has been duly noted.”
Even with the cigarette, Angelo was a bit snippy.

The knock jolted Garma’s attention away from his reading. He had the dossier of a certain Lieutenant Angelo Sauper open on his tablet, and said lieutenant had to be on the other side of the office doors, judging by the time.
Punctual. Garma gave a small smile. He appreciated that in an officer.
Standing up from his desk, he proceeded to the door and opened it. The dossier’s subject was indeed before him now, posture perfect, not a hair out of place. He resisted the urge to chuckle – that eager first impression reminded him so much of himself, in his academy days.
“Ah, Lieutenant Sauper. Perfect timing,” he greeted, offering a handshake. “Please, come in, take a seat – we have much to discuss, and only so much time to discuss it…”
As the young pilot stood at the door, and watched as it opened to reveal the violet haired commanding officer who Angelo would be wise not to get on bad terms with. Angelo’s hellion style of fighting also came with a healthy dosage of breaking the chain of command - something that would need to be massaged and soothed in the coming months.
With a courteous nod, Angelo steps in and proceeded to sit down in the chair that stood solitary in front of the desk that Garma used - and the young pilot’s eyes can’t help but look around at the room as the other walked back to sit behind it. There’s a real sense of accomplishment here, even though the ultimate irony of it was that Garma accomplished little, and it was well known that he was the youngest, and favorite, son of Degwin. The oil painting of himself on the back wall, looming large. The general opulence of the room itself.
All of that gets shoved aside though when Garma speaks, and Angelo’s laser focused upon the superior officer, lavender eyes directly forward. “Indeed. I am excited for the potential opportunity of the arrangement that has been discussed.” the youngster replies, a quiet confidence exuding from their voice.

@pulseofthestars
The Titans were a unified group. One that put the goals of command higher then themselves. Said unity was strong - and even with Angelo, a veteran of the One Year War and very much not hiding their former history as a Zeon Mobile Suit pilot, much of the Titans cared little. When your organization was, putting it bare and simply, a black box organization that carried the same sort of brutal methods against those that opposed them as the enemy that was destroyed years prior, it became obvious that those sorts of divisions died quick deaths.
All of this is on Angelo’s mind as they got out of the linear car and into the spaceport, a bag slung over their shoulders. In the black and red trim of the Titans uniform, there’s no denying that Angelo cut a noticeable presence, added on by the flowing, yet messy grey hair they possessed. Cutting through the line and off to the side, showing off a piece of identification that said that Angelo was apart of the Titans, the pilot cared little about people possibly having reservations for somebody so flagrantly barging through the line and having preferential treatment. Angelo has places to go - and that’s all that matters.
@violetscion
First impressions were everything. That’s why Angelo’s uniform is in even more tip-top shape then it is most days - that’s why all the buttons are done up, the collar nice and level with everything else, and not a crease found in sight. Because you really only got one chance to make a first impression with somebody - and when this somebody would be your handler and your new commanding officer for the next year and a half, you wanted things to be started off on the right foot.
And that’s where Angelo found themselves. In front of the door leading to Garma’s office, a file folder clasped in between long fingers. Frontal had given the go ahead to have young Angelo be transferred to Earth and away from the relative confines of the deep space Sides that they had been stationed at, to not only gain valuable combat experience, but also to turn Angelo into an even more effective mobile suit pilot. One that could harness the wildfire that was Angelo’s emotions and turn it into a focused weapon.
Being apart of California Base and training under Garma Zabi was a good call, then.
A small watch is present on Angelo’s wrist as they look at the time. Not wanting to be a minute late, or early really, soon knuckles are at the door, knocking, wondering how the meeting will go. What will Angelo say? What will Garma ask? Time will tell.
so uhhhhhhhh,,,,,,,do any of my mutuals want some of this uhhhhhhhhh starter action
The future is now.
