Gwynn’s rerun and lack of void hunters in the Rising got me thinking that if they would bring Tevis Larsen without butchering his character much, I’d probably pay some real money to get him 😅

I'd probably do the same for all Hunter pack tbh, but Tevis is the one I vibe with the most in terms of playstyle (and Andal as well, if we consider him having Void bow and that badass sniper rifle).

Your most recent art has got me a little curious, you mentioned that it takes place in the Dark and in Timurs workshop, so does that mean that Timur just keeps rows and rows of inactive Exos on hand?

Yes! Timur is an extremely talented engineer/mechanic, so I headcanon him as being skilled in Exo engineering too, as much as it was possible at that time. I imagine it was hard to get qualified repairment help for Exos in the Dark Age, and Timur was one of the few who offered that service on the highest level - basically like a doctor for non-Risen Exos, who have no Ghosts to immediately fix them up. Mechanisms can't heal naturally ofc, so for him to be able to do that, he needed a lot of spare details of all types. He's gathered this "collection" for many years and its purpose is purely utilitarian - though for unprepared viewers it looks pretty unnerving. Not many Temple's residents are willing to go that deep into Timur's workshop💀

(And of course this room is featured in manny horror tales they scare new students with, it's a good Iron Temple tradition akldhgfkjlad)

Destiny Rising added Hive themed armor sets, and Jaren got one. The lore attached to it is about a "What if sinario", what is Jaren became a dredgen instead of Rezzyl. I was wondering if you have any thoughts on this.

Oh yes, I've seen it! It's interesting how they decided to attach bits of lore with a completely different AU to character skins. I wish it was a properly designed unique Dredgen Cain skin tho, come ooon, this could've looked so cool!

I'm curious where it puts Shin. Was he adopted by Rezyl in this scenario or was he still with Jaren? If Rezyl and Jaren just switched places and the whole story in general stayed the same it's not that interesting imo; but if it's "properly" alternated, like Rezyl found little Shin and brought him in the Last City; Rezyl never got corrupted in the Moon and maybe even became the Titan Vanguard eventually; when his father was killed, Shin didn't slip fully into revenge, grief and rage, since he still had people and places from his childhood to cling into... The whole Destiny story as we know it would've went VERY differently.

Alternatively, if Shin was still with Jaren, would've he accepted his new ideology or turned against him?.. There's a lot to think about here.

Honestly, both sound very interesting.

Like, Shin raised by Rezzyl would be intriguing. What led to Rezzyl's corruption was his fear and need to feel special, with having a son help with those issues? I wonder what Rezzyl would be like as a father. Would he be easygoing or stern. Plus, with Shin raised in the tower, he would see a lot more gaurdian antics and may not look down on them as much as he does in canon. Also, would Shin still be a hunter if raised by Rezzyl because Titan Shin is a cursed idea. Another thing what would Shin personality be in this. I figure he would be less secretive and less of a loner. If Shin is a lot more involved with tower affairs, I could see him becoming Huter vanguard (if he still is a hunter).

But Dredgen Cain raising Shin is also intriguing. I can still see Cain caring for Shin, but instead of telling him to control his anger and other negative impulses, to instead give in to them. Given that Cain's fall is about revenge instead of Hope like Yor, I think Cain would be grooming Shin to get revenge on Cain or for Cain if he dies. If Shin goes along with Cain or tries to stop him, it depends on a few things, mainly if Palamon is still around or if Shin sees Cain kill innocents. If that happens, I can see Shin try to leave Cain and go out on his own. If Cain decides to kill him for that, I don't know.

Or you could have it both ways. Jaren finds Shin raises him for a few years, and when the corruption gets bad, Rezzyl takes him in, thinking that Cain had kidnapped this poor child, and it is his duty to protect him.

You could go even further with this au and have Shin's original Ghost still be around. Have it so that either Jaren or Rezzyl find baby Shin and his Ghost. Would be funny seeing gaurdians try and raise a baby.

I saw that scene, it was hilarious 😂 Rising's Felwinter doesn't seem like Felwinter to me, more like a random NPC wearing his helmet, but it's still fun.

Almost forgot to share the sketchbook and WIP shots with you, but I didn't!

The amount of preparation work I did for this art was unusual and honestly not that necessary, but since it spontaneously turned into a collab with Mako (💙💙💙), I wanted to make sure everything works just right. Extra responsibility! The most important thing though is that I took my time and really enjoyed working on it.

I've struggled a lot with picking the right colours - which might sound weird, because the end result isn't that special. But I tried a few colour palettes before settling on this one - the first idea I had in my head was almost monochromatic, but I didn't like how dull and gray it looked on all these little thumbnails I tried to do. I also have very little experience with painting backgrounds and I was a bit at loss here too. So, just to be sure, I made a couple of fast test drawings in separate sketchbooks with the same paper. The hardest part was to find the right shade of blue that would make all colours a bit colder and duller, but won't give their skin and hair a green undertone. For the background I used only one ink named Yuki Usagi and imo it's the best part of it all, I love all the shades this ink has! Anyway, I was satisfied with the results and moved to the main painting. From there it was pretty standard work process, so I don't have much to share.

(What I usually like to do for things like this with a complex background is to cover characters with a protective film or tape, then paint the background first and characters last, moving from the lightest colours to the darkest to avoid unneccessary bleeding.)

You may also ask - why do you have so many sweets and eyeshadow palettes on your table while drawing??? The answer is that all these are actually art supplies, of course!

I put paints in these boxes and I wanted to make such small sets for a while already. The smaller mints boxes are filled with gouache for adding small details and the bigger chocolate box holds all inks used here. The "eyeshadows" are actually dry pressed pastels which I tried for the first time here and holy shit, it's so much better than pastel pencils I used before in all aspects! I used all shades of white (they look the same, but work a bit differently) to lighten up some places and to add the mist above the water, and I think it really brought the whole painting together.

What I REALLY want is the ability to use more often everything I have (i.e. to draw more). P.S.: I got a couple of new inks recently tho (if you're curious, it's Sailor Yuki-Usagi and Sailor Tsurubami) and hopefully you'll see what I used it for pretty soon 👀✨
