Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's livestream interview from CCXP Cologne 2019
He said that it's okay to dislike the ending and the finale of GoT, but it's absolutely not okay to call the writers names. It's okay to disagree with their writing choices, but it's disrespectful and rude to use bad language. After all there wouldn't have been GoT at all without D&D and we shouldn't forget that. It's easy to be angry and post your emotional thoughts when sitting at home at your laptop, but people should always remember that their texts actually reach other people and can be hurtful.
He likes talking about Jaime and GoT. He is not fed up with it at all, because he only does it at conventions.
He still reads what people write and post online about the ending and loves the passion of the fans.
There is still a GoT cast group chat.
When the final two episodes aired, the chat was full of messages due to the fans' reaction. Nikolaj was the first one who simply wrote "Calm down, guys. The fans still love you."
He liked Brienne writing into the book as Jaime's ending.
He liked Daenerys's going mad, because he always knew it would happen at some point in the story.
He thinks Jon killing Daenery's was predictable and no shock.
He said he doesn't know about the Valonquar prophecy, which is funny, because some minutes later...
He emphasized that the Valonquar prophecy was never part of the show canon.
He said that it was confusing that people didn't like the shocking twists in the last season, when it were the shocking twists that made GoT popular in the first place.
He loves the Lannister family the most, especially Tywin. He also likes Olenna.
He likes Arya's and Sansa's character development.
He thinks that going through puberty as a celebrity must be horrible. (Talking about Maisie and Sophie.)
He was joking when the interviewer was sad about Jaime leaving Brienne and that she only got one night with him. Nikolaj answered something like "One night with Jaime should be more than enough (because Jaime is such a cool guy)." It also confirmed that D&D interpreted Jaime/Brienne as a one night stand.
He thinks that cutting out Cersei's miscarriage in season 7 was good, because otherwise her ending wouldn't have been that sad and Jaime wouldn't have had the strong motivation to go back to her.
He said that the German people are very polite and always afraid to get embaressed in public, so they leave him alone when he doesn't want to take a selfie with them. (Comparing them to Spanish people, who don't care when he says "no".)
The first thing Nikolaj did was walking straight to the fans instead of to the studio where the interview took place.
He was eating nuts and gummibears for half an hour.
He was very danish.
He scrolled on his phone for 5 minutes, looking for a picture of him and Lena Headey and their corpse-dolls which were used in episode 6, trying to confirm that Jaime actually didn't die because it was just a doll that looked like him in the finale.
He tried to ask the interviewers a lot of questions instead of getting asked questions.
They did them so dirty AGH.
Jonerys Week 2019: Day 2 | The North and the South // Dragons
↳ “Three heads has the Dragon, Dany thought, wondering. ‘I shall tell my people to make ready to depart at once. But the ships to bring me home must bear different names.’ ‘As you wish,’ said Arstan. ‘What names would you prefer?’ ‘Vhagar,’ Daenerys told him. ‘Meraxes. And Balerion. Paint the names on their hulls in golden letters three feet high, Arstan. I want every man who sees them to know the dragons are returned.’“ - Daenerys - A Clash of Kings
