Soh Unios's Swedish Hero

Unios's leftback Alji Slivsek produced a huge performance on Sunday to take Unios through to the league cup final. Andrewjet had taken the lead via an extremely quick counterattack on 64 minutes. Unios's pressure late on lead to a succession of free kicks and corners. The goalkeeper Merato Kafoníka came up for the last few in the 93rd minute. He got a vital touch to pass to substitute Alji Slivsek (he had come on at 76 minutes) who sent the ball rolling into the net to equalise with 10 seconds to go. The match then went to extra time. This is the 4th time that Andrewjet had taken a Premiership team to extra time. Andrewjet couldn't create any big chances due to the huge Unios pressure but ultimately the match ended 1-1 and went to penalties. The first 5 penalties all found the net. Then the Andrewjet goalkeeper pulled of a wondersave to deny Marius Nedelecia. Andrewjet then missed their 4th penalty before Péart scored to make it 3-3. Kafoníka then got his fingertips to the ball to push it onto the post to give Unios a chance of going through. Up stepped Slivsek who calmly slotted the ball down the middle to send Unios partying and into the final and sent Andrewjet out with a massive shock. The Andrewjet players looked down after the first goal and were bordering on tears after the penalty shootout. Ultimately the Premiership leaders knocked out the leaders of League 1 by the narrowest margins and the luckiest of comebacks.
