Some of us are so unlucky even other trans women aren't even noticing we are trans women 10 years deep into estrogen and over 100k of surgeries later ppl still think youre a cis dude no voice training isnt going to do anything people think you need to look a certain way and that way is definitely not 6'4 is definitely not wide superman chest big boned and defined muscles and some of them will never grow tits curves or anything no matter what their genetics and metabolism can't eat or afford food or maybe their life just says "no" that other people are lucky enough to get but not you and you will just watch wave after wave of trans women celebrating "wow im growing tits at only 6 months-a year im so happy just take estrogen girlies!!" And watch your heart break
Some of us are going to make other cis men look like they pass as women more than us even 10 years deep into transitioning its just facts people get built more different than estrogen will ever change your body, and what to other people idealistically represents being feminine is literally defined by anti-effeminacy its literally just "not looking like a man wearing a dress" and comparing yourself to other women is also basically just how much you look like less of a "man" than another woman, anti-effeminacy is literally what defines passing
Now unless you signal even harder that youre trans (which just being more visible isnt going to do you any favors when youre already hypervisible will probably attract even more negative attention ie willfully misgendering) youre just going to get misgendered you dont win
The only solution is recognizing trans women in no way need to look any type of way in spite of willfully ignorant people who try to tell us we need to look like cis women or be invisible
Tell a fucking super visible trans woman you love her right now in fact just flat out stop reinforcing that trans women "look feminine" as a whole
we have enough tiny "do i pass" finnsters and they get more than enough runtime boost trans women who dont "pass" whatsoever
This post is about transmisogyny
you're going to see trans women suffering you need to understand what theyre going through
it fucking sucks being a disabled person who can't work and having to see these fuckass posts where someone's like "ahaha jobless people have no life and that's why everyone shitty online has No Job" and everyone and their mother reblogs it joyfully onto my dash for me to see. yes unemployed and unemployable people are truly without exception dogshit people with no hobbies and no redeeming qualities. you're so right. anyway if you'll excuse me i have to start my shift at the I'll Never Be Employed Because Of Permanent Disability And I Love Knowing How You Really See Me store
Same mfs bitching about "jobless" ppl have no talent, no serious hobbies or skills that take time. The only thing they have to show is a resume they lied on when theyre begging to get rehired at taco bell youre never getting your time back
Money doesn't do shit when youre poor alone disabled and dont have a car you can stack your bread all you want 4-5k is literally barely 3 months rent and it will take you 2-3 of starving and dying inside for years to save
It will take an insane amount of money to change your life so much more than someone else who has help and the option to just drive somewhere and the options that opens for them
What am I supposed to spend more to rent a car to drive to to a car i can afford and what drive them both back with one body what am I supposed to do drive myself to surgeries that they tell me I need a ride home for (yes I lied and drove home multiple times half on anesthesia and heavy medication because I had no choice and no one to help me) get my car stolen because I live in a car filled with mold just get access to surgery and people dont care they think you're like icky and inconvenient because the most visible aspect of your life and all you have to talk about is how badly youre suffering its the only thing you know and every aspect of your personality is honest about it while people are trained to be individualist callous and cold towards people who are suffering from poverty and hide how poor they are you are vehemently angry that you cannot breathe by nature of your visible lived experience and right in front of you they want you to internalize that you should make that invisible for them because they find just hearing about it "inconvenient"
A spark will ignite in their head and this person suffering will hate you and hope you rot in a ditch yourself
It is not nearly common enough knowledge that most Native tribes in the U.S. don't actually own all of the land within their reservation. There are millions of acres of reservation land that tribes don't legally own and they have no control over how that land is used. Like, there are a lot of different concepts tied in with the land back movement, but a major one is literally just getting reservation land back into tribal ownership.
So we know land back is Indigenous sovereignty Native agency and Indigenous stewardship yes. Land back is them respecting treaties they promised to respect ages ago but didnât. Land back is them respecting the agreements they made with sovereign nations but broke instead. Land back is us going back to our ancestral lands. Land back is referring to Indigenous land by native names not colonizer ones. Land back isnât a ethostate or deporting people Or whatever fever dream settlers have thatâs cuz of settler colonizer projection and guilt.ïżŒ
âIf you're American, you've almost certainly heard about how Indigenous reservations were and are located on whatever land the US doesn't want anyway. That they're just a way to whisk away undesirables until the land becomes useful to the US. That's the two-state solution.âïżŒ
Two state solution is living side by side with people that tried to exterminate you with land theft genocide ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism When we say land back We mean all land stolen by settler colonizers Not just half of it to appease colonizers or respectability politicsïżŒ
âitâs worth mentioning that the proposal of a âtwo-state solutionâ is exactly what was offered to the Indigenous peoples of the Americas by European settler colonizers as a peaceful way to coexist.âïżŒ
Land back. Indigenous đȘ¶ agency, sovereignty, and stewardship. All land back. Turtle Island, HawaiÊ»i, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), Sisam Moshir (Ainu term for mainland Japan), Ryukyu/Luchu (Okinawa), Samoa, Guahan (Guam), Papua, Ăire(Ireland), Alba (Scotland), BorikĂ©n (Puerto Rico), Maohi Nui (French Polynesia of Tahiti Bora Bora and Marquesan Islands,) Aotearoa (New Zealand), Palestine Etc. Etc. End to all settler states.ïżŒ
Imagine that everywhere in the mechanical engineering world suddenly got infatuated with lasers.
Lasers have a lot of uses! Measuring things, heating things, cutting things, entertaining cats, particle physics. Lasers are pretty cool. Very versatile, very useful, potential to be very powerful.
Someone shows up one day and says "I have developed a never before seen technology! I call it a Death Star."
And it's a 3.4mW laser. Well no, we haven't seen this exact size of laser much since that's not really standard, but that's a bit of a misnomer, and I wouldn't call it new -
"HOLY SHIT GUYS! This Death Star is so entertaining! My cat loves it and it has such a nice color!" The Death Star becomes a viral novelty, and is mildly entertaining, as laser pointers often are.
Somehow, seemingly overnight, this leads to mania. "Lets stick lasers in EVERYTHING! The public loves them!"
More companies make 3.4mW lasers to jump on the bandwagon. Everyone that makes anything vaguely mechanical starts sticking lasers into their designs.
Everyone is calling them Death Stars. Any time there is a "Death Star innovation", it is just that they made a bigger laser.
Ford's next truck comes out and it has "Death Star integrated headlights", where they have just stuck giant lasers in place of their previously functional headlights.
An electric toothbrush is now "Powered by Death Stars" and shoots a laser at the tooth its cleaning. You think that maybe this could have actual applications as a sanitizing device if you're being generous, but when you actually look at the product, its laser has no purpose but to point at the tooth and drain the battery.
Mechanical products across the board get noticeably worse as everyone starts stuffing lasers in places where lasers have no right to be.
The lamp business gets in on it. "Here's a Death Star powered lamp!" These guys haven't even tried to stick a laser in their damn lamps. They've just started calling their light bulbs Death Stars and hoped you bought it before you could tell the difference. You at least appreciate that they haven't ruined their lamp about it.
Death Stars are lauded as the solution to all the world's problems. If it's not working, you should stick a laser in it! That'll fix it, everyone says. Once in a blue moon, it's even true! Weather prediction is really good now. But most things are garbage. Like "Death Star powered washing machines". What the fuck does that even mean?
Meanwhile, since all functioning mechanisms are being replaced with lasers, problems start showing up. All mirrors now cost $1000+ dollars, because the whole supply is being used up to make more lasers. The earth heats up, because everyone's blasting lasers at everything. People keep going blind, on account of all the lasers.
You, in fact, study optical mechanics. You know what a laser is, and how it works, and that it was invented many years before any of this nonsense actually started. People keep asking you about Death Stars, since surely you must know so much about them.
You explain that this is not really what lasers are for, except you have to call them Death Stars now, and that they're causing a lot of harm, so you don't like them much.
"Oh, but they're still such new tech!" they reply. "They'll figure out how to make Death Stars that don't burn your eyes out soon, and then it won't be an issue anymore!"
Somewhere, deep and buried, you remember lasers being used in particle accelerators, or in telescopes, or in laser cutters, or funny cat videos. They are, in fact, still interesting. Still cool.
But by this point they have replaced roads with "Death Star Powered Pathways", which are just laser pointers propped up on tooth picks pointing vaguely through the forests.
And you think you are going mad.
And they are still just FUCKING LASERS.
This post is about AI.
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Letâs fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
Additional source and more details below. Absolutely thrilled to say that this is real. And yeah, it's huge.
For all the reasons above AND ALSO because this particular lawsuit is a defamation case
Privacy lawsuits are hard because most privacy laws are super super weak, and there's very rarely a lot of money or enforcement backing privacy laws for...twenty million reasons, really...
But defamation suits? Those have teeth.
(In large part because, at least in some countries and including in the US, defamation laws protect public figures the least - and "public figures" legally includes most if not all politicians, and a hell of a lot of other rich ppl too)
A Munich court ruled Google's AI Overviews are its own words, making it liable for false claims, a decision that, if it holds, could reach e
A German court has ruled that Google can be held directly liable for false claims made by its AI Overviews, a decision that could put a serious legal dent in the whole âthe AI made me do itâ defense. According to The Next Web, the Regional Court of Munich issued a temporary injunction after Googleâs AI Overviews wrongly tied two Munich publishers to scams, subscription traps, and dubious business practices. The court treated those AI-generated summaries as Googleâs own statements, not just ordinary search results pointing to third-party pages. That distinction matters. Search engines have traditionally had more protection because they index and link to other peopleâs content. AI Overviews changes the machinery. Google is not just showing the web anymore. It is summarizing it, rewriting it, and sometimes apparently hallucinating a tiny legal grenade into the results page.

The thing thatâs always missing from the âwomen didnât fight for the right to work they were already working they fought to get paidâ is that many women also very much wanted to work.
Women wanted to be lawyers and engineers and chemists. They wanted to use their brains in challenging and interesting ways. They wanted to get the satisfaction from solving problems and inventing new shit and getting attention for it.
I know not everyone is born with intellectual curiosity or drive or determination but some people are and many of those people are women.
Literally.
it fucking sucks being a disabled person who can't work and having to see these fuckass posts where someone's like "ahaha jobless people have no life and that's why everyone shitty online has No Job" and everyone and their mother reblogs it joyfully onto my dash for me to see. yes unemployed and unemployable people are truly without exception dogshit people with no hobbies and no redeeming qualities. you're so right. anyway if you'll excuse me i have to start my shift at the I'll Never Be Employed Because Of Permanent Disability And I Love Knowing How You Really See Me store
if ur able to work can u reblog this i am seriously SO sick of it.
btw this isn't solely a disability rights issue or an issue about people who are entirely unable to work. you should also be thinking about the people who are regarded as unhireable. transfems are hugely discriminated against in this way, people of color are passed over for less qualified white people, anyone who has any difficulty playing the interview game is less hireable... frankly anyone who made the mistake of pursuing the things they love and now has a degree for a niche field. if you still joke about Jobless People it's because you've fundamentally connected the worth of people to their labor, and specific labor, work that you see as valuable. and while i'm at it stop making fun of people who still live with their parents. asshole.
A loophole in the US constitution allows forced labour in US prisons, with the government and private companies profiting. This system dispr

The AP reached out for comment to the companies it identified as having connections to prison labor, but most did not respond.

There is no ethical form of prison because prison at its core requires you to completely strip someone of their rights.
"Dogwhistles" are called that based on real "dog whistles", many of which are pitched too high to be audible to most humans, but are still perfectly audible to dogs.
Rhetorical dogwhistles are things that most people would not be able to identify as bigoted because they're INTENDED to have plausible deniability.
The wording changes are meant to be subtle enough that people really can mix them up accidentally when they don't have much information!
So when the gender critical movement calls trans women "transwomen", they're hoping for 2 things.
this usage will spread enough among people who don't know any better, to give transphobes the plausible deniability of not LOOKING like a frothing bigot constantly.
the usage grammatically places trans women in a different category than other women; it's changing "trans" from an adjective to part of a noun to make this distinction.
The more we can avoid this usage, the less deniability have transmisogynists have when using it, and the less we are helping their cause.
I don't actually think ceding this ground is LESS divisive than pointing it out politely.

People die on the job every summer. Remember that water and shade breaks are crucial when working in the heat, and calling emergency services for signs of serious heat illness (fatigue, nausea/vomiting, headaches, dizziness, clammy skin, confusion, agitation, slurred speech, high body temperature, rapid heart rate, etc.) is entirely appropriate. If youâre afraid to call 911 for reasons such as being undocumented, youâll need to get very familiar with how to prevent, recognize, and treat heat illness. If you are symptomatic and not allowed a break, water, or medical treatment, walk out. No matter how broke you are, your job is not worth your life.

Most popular Jack the Ripper theories from ripperologists just blame immigrants, but personally I think it was British empire soldiers...guys who'd just come back from committing massacres in Africa and Asia and figured, why stop now?
The British army committed tons of mutilations during the massacres they committed in colonial times. Removing breasts and mutilating uteruses has been recorded before. In India, in Kenya etcetera.
It's silly to think Jack the Ripper was just some random blue-collar worker from Poland instead of a soldier who probably just came back from the Xhosa Wars, for example.
And Xhosa Wars happened about a decade before the first Whitechapel murder.
One of the theories posits a Malay ship cook as Jack the Ripper. It's so stupid. True crime people are so stupid. This is the era when the British, Dutch, and French etc were committing mass violence across half the world. No one bothers to think about the implications of such a culture of violence and how it would influence their own capital's culture. This is London during the height of colonial plunder.
Not one true crime enthusiast wants to suggest that maybe the serial killer used to be an annihilator of an Indigenous tribe.
Instead, we get a Malay cook. Or a Polish immigrant. Or a Jewish butcher. Always the outsider. Never the bloke who learned his trade in the Xhosa Wars, came back to Whitechapel, and just kept going.
i know gender and sexuality arent exactly the same but âi could survive being with a manâ is comphet. âi could survive living as a manâ sounds much the same. youâre not meant to live in survival mode. it sounds like you do *need* to transition
Thatâs⊠fair
with 2+ years of hindsight (and almost 10 months of HRT), I want to thank this anon, because I think genuinely this played a significant role in helping me to start transitioning.
I've been so much happier since then, and especially since starting HRT. Yeah, there are new struggles and anxieties and problems to adapt to, but I'm also learning how to enjoy life and find myself and love myself, and it's definitely worth it.
Over the past year I've laughed and cried and been able to look at myself in the mirror and selfies and enjoy what I look like. I've felt more comfortable with my body, and worn outfits and accessories that I've been daydreaming about for over a decade. I've felt pretty, which was not something that I thought was possible.
If you're on the fence about transitioning, please know that it's enough to chase joy. If you think you'd be happier, that's enough. You don't have to have known since you were a toddler. You don't have to be so depressed that you can't bear another day as your AGAB. You don't have to "earn" or "deserve" to transition. It's enough to want it.
I feel so trapped and unhappy. I wish I had an easy way to kill myself.
