Happy Halloween, I got you a pumpkin. Posting a little early because… we made it. We sure linked that tober.
This time last year I waxed a little nostalgic and poetic about the Zelda games and mentioned that it might be my last year participating. And I meant that, at the time! I’m old and tired, folks, 30 day drawing sprints really take it out of a guy. Especially when you’re super rusty and have hardly drawn or painted between October 24 and October 2025.
But it’s been a long, long year. I needed some figurative comfort food. I wanted to revisit that really specific melancholy, that feeling at the end of these games specifically.
The day is won, the monster slain. You can never go home again.
And that’s okay. New trees grow, new days dawn, new homes and friends are waiting wherever we decide to build them together. You can’t go back, but you can move on.
Thanks for playing.
