Wind Waker is my favorite traditional style 3D Zelda. But it does definitely have some disappointments. Like imagine if The Ghost Ship was a proper proper dungeon. Or there were more things to find then treasure charts. Like perhaps item upgrades out and about.
GANONDILE... WALK WITH ME
Crocodile: "So, although you get ressurected, you still got defeated by a puny child?"
Ganondorf: "HA!! Spare me your dissapointment, the same happened to you. Except YOU only live once, Worm."
Crocodile has sand powers, Ganondorf LIVES in the Gerudo Region which is a fucking giant desert....Reminding him of home in the WORST way.. And Ganondorf IS a powerful world destroying "weapon" which is one of the only type of things Crocodile cares about.... i fully admit this is a Crackship
Walk with me...
Toxic Old Man Yaoi...
Earth Sage
Drabble 4
Prompt: Tears of the Kingdom Zelda is returned to Hylian form early, timed around the events of another game in the series (can be right before or in middle) and observes/interferes/interacts with the events of that game.
Zelda wakes up falling from the sky. She reels, emotionally and physically, and flails for nonexistent purchase as ground, or rather endless ocean, rises to meet her. She forces her lungs to resist the pressure of the wind, and takes a breath right before she hits the surface.
The impact brings nerve-shattering pain, but her instincts propel her upwards towards the light.
Then, there's nothing; just floating in the salt and pondering death, which she assumes will find her quickly, until hope arrives in the form of a boat that is, at minimum, half figurehead: The King of Red Lions.
if it wasnt for the sheer comedy of the real time white washing the Tetra-Zelda reveal scene would go craaaaazy. Especially sense the end of the game she goes fuck that hiding shit and helps kill Ganondorf. Which too many people disregard when they say its bad writing she gets locked in a basements. Like is it bad writing? Maybe, maybe not. But more importantly the narrative itself dissagrees with it. It says "all the clingling to past ideals and hiding and relying on one savior is what lead to the past failures. We should learn from it not cling too it". Its really fascinating the ways Wind Waker writes its anti-nastalgia narrative in 2003 and how that relates to OOT and WW today.
Something i think is pretty important in Wind Waker is there ain't a moment Link does anything particularly Ganondorf related outside the test of courage alone.
> He only makes it to the Forsaken Fortress the firdt time do to the pirates
> He only makes it through the second time again because of the pirates
> He needs the sages descendents to gain the power to properly kill Ganondorf
> He has to be save by Tetra and then they both have to be saved by Valoo and the Rito
> He and Tetra kill Ganondorf together
And note this isn't the Navi type character helping. Its characters out and about in the world showing up to help. No 3D link save for Botw/Tokt is ever TRULY alone. (and i could go crazy about the lack of Navi in botw adding so much to the mood but thets not for now) But Tetra's habit of crystal stalking and lowkey maneuvering Link in the first act of Wind Waker feels alot different to Tatl or Fi or even Midna.

Side note. How the fuck does the pirates charm work?? Like both The King and Tetra can use it. That makes it seem like a bloodline thing. Especially sense we never seem them with another charm connecting. Like yeah its a gossip stone but what the fuck even were gossip stones.

Also how much is Tetra being honest when she says she doesn't know anything about the royal family? We know she at least knew more then the average person based on her room and reaction to The Master Sword.
