coffee. it’s all she’s been thinking about since she first woke up. coffee. coffee. coffee. particularly a cafe creme, but she’d even take a single shot of espresso at this point. her mother had, for some odd reason, taken to turning the lights on and off all night. besides that, she was on high alert in case the front desk’s bell rang. being home and working at the motel was far from her dreams, but it was all that she could do to help her parents out. to make them proud. the new for sale sign was nestled into the window of the motel and then she found her way to the cornelia street cafe. a local legend. where coffee and gossip were served piping hot - and lord she is needs it. so tired. as she pays for her dirty chai, there’s a tuft of white-blonde hair that appears in her periphery, and it’s unmistakable. quickly amending her order to add the largest americano they have with a bit of oatmilk in it, cordelia attempts to beat the other girl to whatever punch she can. it’s just moments before delia sidles up beside lennon in line, silently holding out the paper cup holding what used to be her usual order. “you never liked how small the coffees in paris were,” a smirk, a step away from the blonde. “savouré -le,” enjoy.
