A Nice Catch
@mpcedric
Angela had been busy with working on the decorations outside in the morning. She was not the perfect gardener, but she knew just enough to keep up the main floral pieces that decorated the exterior. So, as customers started to slowly file into the cafe, she was atop a ladder, pulling the weeds out the last plant that draped over the door. Angela was so glad to be nearly done.
She had been blessed with peace. In moments of chaos from a sudden crowd trying to get their cup of coffee, Angela’s ladder got accidentally knocked, sending the demigoddess off the wooden frame and headed toward the ground. With closed eyes and not enough to think, the woman felt herself half mid-air, caught in the firm grasp of another.
Finally opening her eyes, they widen as she spotted who her savior was. “Cedric?” She spoke in nearly shock. Had it been nearly anybody else, she was sure she would have landed straight on the ground. And, she luckily felt comfortable being around Cedric. They had spoken enough times that she considered him a friend. So, as she rested in his arms, the spike of adrenalize slowly calmed enough to really address the situation. The firm grip around her waist, their close proximity, and her hands on his chest, it embarrassed her far too much, pulling a bright shade of red on her cheeks.
“Thank you for saving the day, Ced... But, you can put me down now.”
