Tell me more about your new au. I'm curious
OK well this is a very vague idea which is why I wouldn't write it and I'd rather just draw scenes I eventually think of so bare with me.
Wilbur comes back wrong. Revivedbur doesn't exist in this universe, Quackity, Tommy, Ranboo have never met him and so on. He is also not in limbo because Dream had fucked up his revival spell and had thought about the earliest memory he had of Wilbur, maybe even the fondest of a silver tongued aspiring army general, fighting a war, building a nation. Creating out of spite, out of dreams power.
Thier relationship is weird but think of the unused plot idea of Wilbur helping hide Dream out of prison from Quackity except Wilbur is promised the keys to Quackity’s nation and his power (Which Dream does not have). Wilbur is aiming to gain Quackitys power in the beginning, this to uphold the thing he has suddenly lost- a nation, a home and scrambling with the new change to try and fix it.
Because Wilbur is never told how he died, not honestly. He is told he died fighting a war in lmanberg, fighting for his country and he had won he pulled through after the explosions of Doomsday and laid to rest peacefully as the president. Manburg is never discussed, nor pogtopia, Wilbur is spun to believe this was all against Dream and the greater smp. He is told lmanberg was never rebuilt as to respect him and like a watchful dog, others try and make sure he doesn't spiral. Awfully kind, regretful- think of Revivedburs arc of forgiveness and uno reverse it the opposite way.
Then, Quackity. He meets Wilbur at the burning of el rapids. The same thing plays out in which Wilbur is delirious believing he just woke up but still he belittles Quackitys ability to be president of any nation. Quackity takes him to Las Navadas and here we get the Most Wilbur version of Wilbur you could get. Ambitious, challenging but still hopeful. Quackity is the most Quackity he could ever be, doomed to this fate just as the Wilbur was before. He is a show and tell of what actual Wilbur should've been and Wilbur in a way admires it. He is proven wrong time and time again by Quackity and this is when it all breaks. Wilbur finds out Quackity has been torturing Dream for reasons he doesn’t know. Then, Quackity tells him about Tommy, about his death and for some reason Wilbur takes it as a challenge. For one he wants vengeance for Tommy because he is not as forgiving as Revivedbur turns out to be no, he is still young and scrappy in comparison, ready to learn.
So he kills dream.
Now some take it as a bad thing, deem it as Wilbur trying to make up for what he did but yet again Wilbur doesn’t know. However, instead of the spitting image of a spiralling man he is given praise of a hero. People forgive him, the ones who don’t really know him and those that do? Run terrified because he is spiralling yet again in a different way. A roaring fire, who would’ve guessed? It brings peace to the server. However, as mentioned before Wilbur isn’t told about Pogtopia and so on, he remembers the elections so he assumes he must of won based on what others had spun him to believe. But on Memorial Day he heads to L’manberg with judging stares upon his back. He feels like he shouldn’t be here but why wouldn’t he? He was the president, he defended the country- oh. No, no he didn’t he opened the chest of what used to be his grave and found the truth to be worse. Funny how a passing comment was all it was to break his fantasies.
Then, Wilbur falls out with Quackity. Heads to the artic and demands the truth from his family, from here he lives on a year with them, training, writing you name it. But peace isn’t quite earned yet, Quackity attempts to apologise offering Wilbur a role as vice president of his country, Wilbur denies until they attend a year festival celebrating all the nations and the two are paired to win a mechanical engineering contest. Wilbur isn’t as knowledgeable as he would’ve been had pogtopia happened but he sure is strategic. They lose, they argue with the judges and deem their teamwork good enough.
And then Wilbur joins! Woo hoo, and he uses it to help Quackity move on and to help himself. Still, he is not perfect and sometimes spirals over the person he would’ve became because when is that not a mind fuck? Basically a cool way to navigate the dsmp without a supreme villain because that’s not how life works. Would it be sweet? We don’t know. Would it be havoc? I don’t know but I don’t want to finalise what would happen so it can open my brain to more ideas.
