He looked to her with a soft expression, reaching out to gently squeeze her shoulders. “And what if you said nothing at all, and we never came? You would think of them, your heart would always want to know. It is always better to try and fail, than torture yourself wondering about what never was. In war, you go to the extremes to protect those you love and hope that they’ll understand that the end justifies the means.”
He cleared his throat. “It doesn’t always end up that way, but if your parents are reasonable people, they’ll understand you were trying to protect them from threats they never have heard of before. They’re your parents, Hermione. Based on how you’ve turned out, they must have been wonderful. I don’t think you have much to worry about. So take in a deep breath, hold your head up, and take my hand. Let’s go find them.”
“They were....they are wonderful people, both inside and out. I wouldn’t change them for the world. But sometimes, people do change when they are feeling hurt for what another has done to them.” She stated slowly, leaning slightly back into his grasp.
Closing her eyes, she inhaled a deep breath of air, straighten her shoulders, and stood up tall. “I think I’m ready. No, I don’t think, I know I’m ready even if I feel like I’m not. I am. I need to stay positive that I can return their memory.” Turning around she looked him in the eye and placing a tender hand on his arm. “Just please don’t leave my side, I want you to be there with me if I succeed or if I fail. If I am able to return their memory I want you to get to know them as I know them. The only thing I don’t want them to find out is that we had already died once in our life time.
