Hotel L ... s t
inspector-megane:
He follows Kogami's suggestion and parts ways with the hound, still within earshot and eye sight, however. The last thing they need is to be separated and lost from each other. He comes across one with nothing useful in it, just broken shelves and debris. He can hear the tone in the enforcer's voice and gets a little annoyed.
In fact, he does have a suggestion: Kogami shutting the fuck up. To hear the silence of the night and the creaking of the floor underfoot would be wonderful if Kogami could be quiet for long enough and not feel the need to be such an asshole. The inspector does not reply to his hound, keeping silent as he continues to inspect their surroundings, still on the search for a supply closet. Even if they don't find anything to keep warm with they at least have their coats and could settle down someplace sturdy for the night. There's no use in burning their midnight oil when they have to concentrate on keeping warm until rescue.
Kougami was not one to give up easily, but it was evident that this search was going nowhere. Though the building was abandoned and unstable, the cave in wasn't completely terrible; the lack of exits also meant that they were sheltered from the cold night. The rubble might as well be insulation. Besides, he had an extra jacket. Ginoza, however... Well, the inspector was both taller and skinnier than him, and was certainly less dressed; if anything, he would be the one who needed the blankets.
As it was, Kougami simply followed behind Ginoza at a distance, scanning the floors. There wasn't much, though, just dust and the occasional rat.
Silence fell over the pair, much to Ginoza's pleasure.
Meanwhile, Kougami was bored. While Ginoza checked the supply closet, Kougami began to blow air from his lips, just so that he could mimic the whistle of the wind. It was quiet, but in the silence, it was loud. Surely, Ginoza wouldn't be scared by something so obvious, but Kougami grinned anyway.
