beauty and the beast [@thegambitshroud]
The day hadn't started out promising. She was down to her last vial of Dust after three days in Forever Fall, and she hadn't eaten anything since last night; it was now afternoon. It hadn't taken long for Weiss to learn that as long as she kept drinking it kept the hunger at bay, but that could only do so much.
Really, of all the ways for Kalt to go about trying to kill her, this was probably the one way she'd suffer the most. It had been an idea by him, a way of 'testing' her to see if she was really prepared to go to Beacon before she was set to officially attend next month. He'd given her a limited amount of Dust and food, and had left her if Forever Fall all on her own.
Of course, Weiss knew the truth. Kalt would sell it as a sob story about how she'd gotten eager to prove herself and had run off on her own, only to die of dehydration or starvation. Or killed by a Grimm. The point was, it would be impossible to prove it was an actual murder. She would be dead, after all.
It wasn't like him to be this open about his willingness to murder his own child, but Weiss supposed the fact that it could be covered up over her being accepted into Beacon had really made up his mind.
So far, no Grimm. But that didn't rule out the possibility of starvation and dehydration. Weiss grimaced, her ears flicking at the thought as she rested her hand against a red tree trunk and tried to think through the hunger headache that had been pounding away at her temples.
The problem was, she really didn't know how to. And right now, she felt like she was being hunted.
