Thoughts on Psycho Pass 14 because this might be my favorite episode (so much gore *A*) and if you hate Makishima YOU ARE WRONG nojkjkjkjk.
I see a lot of complaints in the tag ... HOW CAN SOMEONE STAND BY WHILE THE LADY GETS BEAT TO DEATH WITH THE HAMMER? HOW CAN PEOPLE JUST WATCH? blah blah blah ... which is fine. It's perfectly logical to think that way, because it's the correct way to think, after all.
But the Sibyl System has desensitized people so much so to the point where they don't even understand a murder when it's happening in front of them. They rely so heavily on scanners that they have completely lost the feeling of what it means to be "human." Though, when you think about it, it kind of reflects the way our society is today. People aren't quick to run and help others when they see them in danger. Sure there are a few heroes here and there, but the general population doesn't care for a stranger.
AND MAKISHIMA. MAKISHIIIIIIMA, JFCKFC. Can a character get more perfect? I don't know. He's so twisted ... in this ... beautifully, well thought out sort of way. You can't even call him insane, because in essence, all he's doing is trying to bring out the humanity in people once again. If he has to kill one or two (or five or ten or 100) people in the process in gruesome ways, then so be it. He only wants to expose the flaw that is the Sibyl System -- whiiiiile being completely warped.
He's also a bad ass and his clothing style is good
ahhhhh idk idk, this episode was just so good.
these two i swear
