“Trust me, there are far worse things than could happen to aside from getting splashed with rainwater by a speeding bus.” From the top of her head, Joy can already name five things that are worse but she chooses to keep her mouth shut in favor of not angering the already pissed stranger beside her. It’s only the two of them in the bus stop right now and she doubts that she’d have anywhere else to hide if the boy’s temper completely snaps.
With the last weeks of summer in Seoul upon them, the weather has been incredibly moody as it alternates between torrential downpour and humid heat. The sun easily scorches one moment but then it ends up raining cats and dogs in the next five minutes; such confusing weather has prompted her to bring both sunscreen and her raincoat because one can just never be too sure.
“Here, you can have this.” She says, tentatively holding her hand out in front of his face in a clear offering of a pack of tissues. It isn’t much considering that the front of his clothes are absolutely drenched but it’s clearly better than nothing. “The next bus won’t be here for another fifteen minutes so why don’t you go sit down for a bit so you can dry yourself up?”
