{` ☆ — promise you
I promise that I will never let you down be strong for you, I'll always be around
What does one do when every little thing is a reminder of failure? Failure to stay healthy. Failure to stand on stage with her members. Failure to continue smiling at the fans as they cheer the group on. Failure to perform. Failure to continue her dream. Her own dream.
Why did she have to sacrifice so much and yet she couldn't do as she wanted? Sleep. Friends. Time with her family. A normal life. Still, her health was the one obstacle she couldn't overcome.
Incurable. One of the most dreadful words to hear slip from a doctor's lips.
Admittedly, it could've been worse. There were countless other illnesses that could have affected her but this one meant, at times, excruciating pain and an inability to dance as well as she normally could. For a dancer, anything short of amputation or a torn ligament would and could not compare in terms of atrociousness.
Oh, what to do? What to do? If she listened to music, she'd only think of how she wasn't performing with 4minute. If she turned on the television, she'd remember where she was supposed to be. Moving her hand proved to be overbearing as well the more she considered why it was connected to her in the first place.
Her cell phone was useless in breaking the tense atmosphere that has gathered around her as well. If she tried to text someone to pass the time until her manager came back to the room, she'd see the text of encouragement from her mother and there she was in a hospital gown.
Rising from the bed and dragging the iv around the room by its stand, Hyuna sighed, her head lolling back as she blinked profusely. This would stop the tears from falling, wouldn't it? What goes up must come down but not if there's not a way for the droplets to slide down her cheeks. Well— it was at least worth a try, right?
Not much time had passed before she eventually gave up, glaring at the iv and asking it why repeatedly and somehow it had turned into her singing "Why." That is, until the door opened and she abruptly paused, forcing a smile onto her lips as she prepared herself for whoever it was.
