Today, however, something shifted. Trump sent his former personal attorney and current personal attorney in the guise of acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, to the Senate Republican caucus lunch meeting to strongarm recalcitrant Senators into passing the reconciliation bill on ICE funding, which includes $1 billion for Trump’s ballroom and his $1.8 billion insurrectionist pay-off slush fund, and it didn’t work. One Senator texted that “our majority is melting down before our eyes.” Another Senator told a reporter that 25 senators spoke at the two-hour meeting and “that just doesn’t happen.”
