The son long longed for ... the firstborn. Strangeness ( non-coincidental resemblance ) he could see in Aegon's very first steps whenever he walked out in high dudgeon at the mention of responsibilities, and then there was this unexplainable urge by intuition that called for times spent in mutual solace than fall prey to irrational fears for the future.
