"Jesus fucking Christ." cursed the brunette as he noticed a familiar face. The former soldier crossed his arms over his chest and grunted. "My lucky day." Then he tilted his head a little bit to the side.
"Yo."

Drink Me
"Hey Echo, do you mind about some drinks with me?"
"Not in the slightest...sir"
This is how it started. Now they were sitting in a old dusty bar. People stared at them. Piers didn't knew if they stared at him or his comrade. What got more attention, the cripple or the soldier with his full gear? He sighed and took another shot of good old Vodka.
"Do y'mind if I ask you something?" Piers wanted to know without looking at the soldier. His nose was already red from the much alcohol. His head started to hurt again. He needed another shot.
"As long as they are not too personal...or too...'touch-friendly'" replied his friend.
Piers chuckled softly at his comment. "Don't worry, kid, I won't grab yer ass. I am a gentleman" he explained and took another sip of the Vodka. "I do this only at the third date" He had to laugh about his own joke. Hell, he loved it to tease people, sometimes he was very cocky. "And this is just our first date"
The bartender gave them a appraising glance.
His comrade didn't said anything. Maybe he took it too serious. Piers sighed. "Listen, kiddo, I am drunk, dun't tak'too serious what I say, kay?"
"Alright, sir. But please stay away from my butt"
Piers choked almost on his Vodka, and spit the alcohol at the counter. "Hell, you got me kid!" he said surprised. "Naaaw don't worry I am nut a harasser"
Silence.
"So ..I wanted to ask you, why ya wun't tell me yer right name. I mean, are ya scared of sumthin' or is yer name just stupid....like...Bob or...Herbert...I dun't know" he asked curious and scratched the back of his head with his left arm.
"I told you already the reason sir, on the battlefield, there are names not important. You will die if you're not a good soldier. Personality is not there to help you."
Slowly Piers nodded with his head. "I see yer point but I don't agree with you. But we talked already enough about the battlefield. Bad memories for me. Don't let the fight control yer life, soldier"
Piers shrugged with his left shoulder and turned his head to Echo 9.
"I pay the next round, kid"
