He pulls his hand back immediately before it got caught by the claws. That was close… Only now as his eyes wander a bit more past the cat did he notice the dead rat staring blankly from what was left of its eye out of the shadows. “Calm down” he replied in a gentle but firm tone. “I’m not here to steal your food. ”

He turned to quickly turn his attention back to the rodent, hurriedly tearing and pulling - eating as quickly as he could. The thing was tiny for a meal but so what - something was better than nothing and he was going to insure no thief could have it - whether they told the truth or not.  

But perhaps he ate to fast as he had started coughing. Or was that gagging? Either way was unsightly.

Someone could have easily mistaken the male slumped against the side of the wet wall for a dead body. He paid no heed at all to the rain, the way it forced his hair to cling to his forehead, or how sickeningly uncomfortable it made his own tattered clothes feel. From his lips and staining his chin were whispers of blood. The same smears evident on his hands told the story of his more recent and violent episode, the likes of which left him incredibly winded.

He couldn’t be sure of how long he had been sitting there only that he was out of money again. What a strange thing to focus on, all things considered. He wanted something for the headaches and sore throat - something cheap. Through narrow though hollow-seeming eyes he’d weakly call out to the first unfortunate soul to wander by - a young male with such pretty colored hair. “Oi…O-oi…! You… How much…are you willing to…part with? You won’t miss a couple…of coins would you?”
