an extremely unexpected arrival, gabriel’s parents were highly under prepared to care for a kid. and after his birth his parents still weren’t necessarily striving to be the best parents either. born in the thorncliffe area of toronto, gabriel’s parents were hardly ever home -- leaving him with whatever neighbor, family member, or school friend’s parents they could until he was old enough to stay home alone after school. wasn’t exactly a star student. your average trouble maker, he’d often end up in detention by the end of the day. really, he was just a kid desperate for his absent parents attention good or bad.
he’d later get tangled up in the wrong crowd. it started innocently, tagging the sides of buildings and pranking their highschool teachers. however, their nefarious games would grow into something more the older they got. entangling gabe in a very long list of small crimes. arrested a dozen times, the whole troubled kid that everyone said wouldn’t go anywhere in life. the whole nine yards.
the fame came in a blur -- precisely 3 days and one fluke viral video but it felt like overnight. which is a major part of the many reason he doesn’t think he deserves it. a group of gabriel’s friends took a trip to new york for a weekend. a drunken karaoke night, one thing lead to another and he’s on the youtube trending page covering a ne-yo song after one too many shots of tequila. gabriel had always kept his love for singing & song writing under wraps. however, the momentum behind his cover kept building and building until finally he’d gained the attention of a handful his musical contemporaries caught wind of his talents, and he’d later get offered a record deal with ovo records.
it was his final ticket out of thorncliffe and to a better and brighter future. and he’d do pretty much anything to keep this new life. including paying to get his record erased.
personality:
a bit of the strong, quiet type. not much to say. hardly ever relieves anything about anything he deems his past generally pretty distant with most as he isn’t very good at getting close to people anymore . but, he’ll definitely still go to a club and order everyone a round -- just, don’t expect much of a chat with him unless you’re already friends. he is passionate, to a fault. the things he cares about -- he cares deeply for. and it’s almost impossible to convince him otherwise. coming from nothing so he almost always over does it. has almost completely thrown away his life before the fame, he’s resourceful and cares alot about maintaining his wealth , but maybe not so much his “image”.
