so i did a tiny bit of research and a Lot more thinking and i came up with some Ideas about gender in nalduway beyond "it's not a binary"
obvs this will vary by culture but
what i'll probably wind up refering to something along the lines of "wifekind" or "motherkind" being those who marry and bear children [which would probably be roughly equivalent to cis het/bi women who want kids]
what i'll probably wind up calling "fatherkind" or something, being those who marry and father children [roughly equivalent to cis het/bi men who want kids]
people who don't get married - because they can't, or don't want to, or whatever. probably divided into "would be ~motherkind~ if anything" and "would be ~fatherkind~" and maybe a third group for ppl for whom it's unclear/they don't care/are fluid between roles [roughly equivalent to asexual ppl, gay ppl, binary trans people, and probably some nonbinary people]
and ppl who reject things on a more radical level altogether probably [roughly anyone whose identity is too complex or indeterminate to fit into the above categories]
like all nalduway cultures will probably not recognize all these roles and probably not all in the same way but its a Start i guess
