Masquerade
Every year, there was the masked ball and for nothing in the world, Min would have missed it. Every year, she went to rent the most beautiful dress and mask, wear some pretty make up and do her hair nice. She would go to the venue and, for one night in the year, she could pretend she was someone else. It wasn’t like she had something to hide, but she liked to keep her identity for herself, just like that, on one evening. The mask used to hide just enough and reveal just enough as well. And she liked finding this to the person she met on the party. That was surprisingly thrilling, to think that she would never know for sure who was facing her. She really loved the ambiance of such parties. Once again this year, she put every effort in her outfit and haircut, taking hours to get ready and do her make up. She felt really delighted and excited at the thought of the evening waiting for her. When she thought she was ready and pretty enough, she left the flat, and reached the metro, not minding the curious looks around her. Min wasn’t the kind of girl to worry about strangers’ opinions, especially when she was feeling so confident in her outfit. She sat, waiting for the metro to bring her to the right station. She noticed another girl dressed like her, and from afar, they smiled at each other, knowing where they we’re heading. When she reached the right building, Min heart started racing faster. She put her mask carefully and looked around herself, admiring all the gorgeous dresses worn by just as gorgeous girls. Laughs and chats were filling the air. Everyone’s frenzy was palpable and Min felt it grow inside her guts. This would be such a wonderful night, she could feel it already. She showed her golden ticket, pass to the heaven and eventually entered the famous room, magnificently decorated. Golden, red, warm colours showing everywhere. Once again, the organizers had done their best to make the place looks marvelous.
