It had been a while since Heidi had hosted a sleep over, but it was the while reason the guest room in her basement was for. It was a bunkbed that was a twin mattress up top and a queen on the bottom. Plenty of room for Wendy and Bebe to sleep separately, she also had air mattresses put away incase there were more people staying. Heidi spent the majority of her day cleaning the entire house from the basement to her room. The idea of people seeing her house not perfect and tidy caused a lot of anxiety for her.
Setting snacks out on the white quartz kitchenette counter top, starting with a decorative cut fruit board, chips with guac and salsa, mini sandwiches she made, she went on and on, filling pretty platter pieces with her finger foods. To call it overproduction would be an understatement; she made enough to feed a small banquet. Having the parents she does, she doesn't really know how to cope, so she stress cooks. To some people it's seen as productive, but it actually pissed her off later when she spent seven hours standing in the same place.
Her own discomfort didn't really matter at the end of the day, even to her. It made a very lovely display. Sitting down on the long stripped couch in her basement, putting her slippers up on the arm of the couch, she sends an "everything's ready:)" text to the girls group chat. She really hoped everyone would be here before dinner would be ready. Her mom stays at home for the most part, and Heidi having friends over gave her a reason to pull out the nice china to be used. It brought a spark to her mom to be able to prepare for her daughter's party, though Heidi assumed her mom was really truly just that bored.
