Luka had been operating gigs for King Communication for about a year with his company which had led to quite a steady paycheck and even a friend. Somehow, Luka had managed to find a friend in the CEO of the company hosting all the fancy parties which managed to bring in more business for the security company, something his boss was very happy with. As long as he was kept on the roster for their parties, Luka really couldn’t care less. Alex and Luka had a weird bond, happening only in short bursts at first. A minute to breathe here, a small joke there. But now, a year into their friendship, Luka always seemed to find Alex at his side for a bit at each party he attended. He didn’t mind but then again, Luka didn’t say much either way. He was supposed to be invisible, after all. All of that is why Luka wasn’t surprised at all to find himself against one of the walls of the loud party, peering around to ensure no one was falling over themselves, no one was fighting or anything out of the ordinary was going on. But when he saw Alex, he managed to stop his mind from evaluating the risks of the room and crack a small smile for her. He didn’t speak but Luka just made sure that she knew he was there, just like he always was.

Work these days had been crazy. With the city buzzing after the Spring Festival, Luka was grateful for the extra work. A bit of extra money never hurt anyone, that’s for sure. That’s how he found himself on the way to meet a new client. A skateboarder, no less. Luka wasn’t one to judge but it was hard for him to imagine how he could help in the least bit. Was he protecting her from the cops? Other skaters? Fans? Without asking too many questions, he chose to dress for whatever might come up. He certainly wasn’t a skateboarding kind of kid back in the day but he had dealt with plenty of those kids in the same respect. Luka waited outside, looking a bit lost, trying to pin point who he was looking for. He eyed his phone with the picture and looked back up, finding the woman he was looking for in the distance. As he approached, he shoved his phone back into his pocket, keeping his head down. When Luka finally reached his client-- Phillipa Reyes, also known as Pippa, he put on his business smile, something that was friendly enough but also showed that he was serious. “Pippa--” he started, holding out his hand instinctively. “Name’s Luka, I’m your security detail for today,” he finished, introducing himself.
The tiny avian swerved to avoid being run into, glaring at the perpetrator. “ Hey, watch where you’re going. “ His words were sharp, the warning clear ... right before he ran into someone else. Oops.
“ I thought everyone knew to separate white shirts from red ones but I guess I was wrong ! “
“ Holy shit I could use a nap. “ Paperwork is hard. Especially unwanted paperwork.
“ I should open a cafe ... although someone would probably burn it down within a week. Maybe that’s not such a good idea. “
