within his immortal confinements, there are few certainties beyond his more common vices and the tendencies which seem to show up again and again. an old friend would often prove much less cruel than the path that fate often placed him in, testing the durability of the fae boy. this isn't to say that rory hadn't thought about the bear trap, the way they were often spread about the paths in case one chose to wonder far too close to a village but it almost certainly had slipped his mind the moment the apple tree had come into sight. lingering ever so close, feet about to step onto the hidden trigger and leave him a bloody mess but closer to a handful of ripe fruit. he jumps at the movement, the blur of hands throwing him back and away from the trap, gulping with hesitance the moment he should have to look up at the giant before him. thankful for being saved, assuming as ever that he might be eaten. he was ridiculous at the worst of times.
rory laughs a moment, trying his best to cover up how hard his heart was beating. fingers clutching the little metal ring attached to a chain that lingered now on the ground near his legs. he breathes for a moment before nodding toward the tall being. " uh, so is this the part where I thank you and you are the actual trap...or?" his sarcasm came often, it tended to be a defensive reaction to his fear. a way to make himself feel a little better in situations where he was otherwise crapping his pants. he shakes his head of course, he still liked to imagine and see the best in others.
